CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the State Government is committed to promote Ayurveda in the State. For this, a model Ayush village is being developed in every district. New yoga and wellness centres are also being developed. Addressing the Proceedings of the 10th World Ayurveda Congress and Arogya Expo at a hotel in Old Rajpur on Monday, Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami said that it is a matter of great pride for us that Devbhoomi Uttarakhand was successful in organizing the 10th World Ayurveda Congress and Arogya Expo, and now we are releasing the Proceedings to cherish the memories and achievements of that historic event.
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said that this is not just a document but an essence of knowledge, experience and deep deliberation, which will play an important role in shaping the direction of research, policy making and public health in the field of Ayurveda in the years to come. The Chief Minister said that through the organization of World Ayurveda Congress and Expo Mart, we were able to convey the message not only in India but in different countries of the world that how best health can be achieved through Ayurveda. At the same time, we were also successful in spreading the message of Sarve Santu Niramaya told by our Sanatan Hindu culture to the world at large. Lauding VijnanaBharati’s VigyanVidyarthiManthan, the Chief Minister said that it is not only a powerful initiative to inculcate in our youth the curiosity for science, the spirit of research and the ability to innovate, but also a comprehensive campaign to make the future generation inquisitive, aware and responsible citizens.
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said that Ayurveda is one such unique system of medicine in the world which has been ensuring the health of human civilization since ancient times. Ayurveda cures not only external diseases but also internal disorders related to our intellect and our senses. Due to this holistic approach of Ayurveda, its acceptance is continuously increasing today. Ayurveda is the most precious gift to mankind. The Chief Minister said that Devbhoomi Uttarakhand has been the land of wisdom of Ayurveda and medicinal wealth since ancient times. The medicinal herbs found in our hilly regions have played an important role in establishing Ayurveda as the basic element of health. So this is very important for our country. He said that it is a matter of pride for all of us that the Ministry of AYUSH, formed under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, is today giving a new identity to this ancient science of ours at the global level. Various programmes like ‘National Ayush Mission’ and ‘Prakriti Pariksha Abhiyan’ run by the Central Government are playing their important role in establishing health from cities to villages today.
With the guidance and support of the Prime Minister, the state government is also working continuously to promote Ayurveda in the state. He said that at present, more than 300 AYUSH based “Ayushman Arogya Kendras” are operational within the State. AYUSH counselling is being provided by more than 70 experts through eSanjeevani portal. The state government is setting up 50 bedded and 10 bedded AYUSH hospitals in each district. At the same time, a model Ayush village is being developed in every district. Along with this, the state government is giving impetus to drug manufacturing, wellness, education, research and production of medicinal plants by implementing the “Uttarakhand Ayush Policy” in the state. Now the State Government is committed to set up 50 new Yoga and Wellness Centres in the coming years along with the launch of AYUSH Teleconsultation. The state government has requested the Ministry of AYUSH for the establishment of an All India Institute of Ayurveda in Uttarakhand, which will prove to be a milestone in the field of Ayurveda education and research in Uttarakhand.
On the occasion, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami released the Coffee Table Book of AYUSH Department and poster of Vigyan Vidyarthi Manthan Competition of Vijnana Bharati and felicitated several people for promoting Ayurveda. Earlier, Dr. Shiv Kumar, National Organizing Minister of Vijnana Bharati gave a detailed presentation of the event. Before the main event, a silence was also observed for the citizens who lost their lives in the Dharali disaster.
