CM Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the Standard Club Carnival of Bureau of Indian Standards in Dehradun on Tuesday. During this time, he inspected various stalls and took an oath to buy Pep Mark products. Describing the role of the Standards Club of the Bureau of Indian Standards as important, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said that it is working to inculcate in our students the importance of quality and standardization, as well as promoting creativity, innovation and scientific temper.
He lauded the 78 years of service of Bureau of Indian Standards in ensuring quality of Indian products through standardization and safeguarding the interests of consumers.
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said that even today when we buy a product, we first check the ISI mark, as it ensures the reliability and quality of the product.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the expansion of the standards ecosystem, covering various sectors including agriculture, road transport, health. He said that these steps are important for improving our standard of living and strengthening the economy.
At the same time, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami also lauded the role of Bureau of Indian Standards in realising the dream of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat “and referred to the efforts of the state government, saying that the government is working to set high standards for local products so that they can compete at the global level.
Cantt MLA Savita Kapoor, Director Bureau of Indian Standards Uttarakhand Saurabh Tiwari, Commissioner Food Harichandra Semwal and Deputy Director BIS Snehlata were also present on the occasion.
