CM Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday inaugurated the Uttarakhand State Guest House ‘Uttarakhand Niwas’ at Chanakyapuri in New Delhi. This grand Uttarakhand Niwas has been constructed at a cost of about 120 crore 52 lakh rupees. At the outset, the Chief Minister prayed to God to grant peace to the departed souls and patience to the bereaved families of the victims of Marchula bus accident in Almora district.
Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami said that today we are all witnessing the historic moment of the inauguration of Uttarakhand Niwas. Uttarakhand Niwas incorporates the culture, folk art and architecture of the state. Uttarakhand Niwas has preserved the imprint of the unique art of Uttarakhand. Its walls are traditionally built with beautiful stones of the Pahari style, which also serves to enliven our cultural heritage. This building will not only give a new height to our rich cultural traditions but will also provide better facilities to the guests coming from Uttarakhand and abroad.
The Chief Minister said that this building, with comfortable accommodation and a glimpse of the culture of Uttarakhand, will become a symbol of the dignity of our state in the national capital. He said that our traditional dishes should be arranged at Uttarakhand Niwas. A special counter should also be arranged here for the sale of Sri Anna products and organic products. Arrangements should also be made for the sale of Uttarakhand’s identity cap, pichoda, shawl, jacket and famous products of the state. High quality products are being made by women self-help groups of the state. It will be a special experience for our guests.
The Chief Minister expressed gratitude to all the colleagues who contributed in the construction of Uttarakhand Bhawan. He also appreciated the dedication of all the workers. The Chief Minister said that on the coming 9th November, we are going to enter the silver jubilee year of the State of Uttarakhand. In such a situation, the inauguration of Uttarakhand Bhawan will strengthen our resolve to make Uttarakhand the best and will inspire all of us to take the state forward. He said several important schemes and policies have been implemented over the years for the overall development of the state. This is the reason why Uttarakhand has been ranked first in the country in the Sustainable Development Goals ranking released by NITI Aayog this year.
The state has received the category of Achievers in Ease of Doing Business and Leaders in Startups. GSDP has increased by 33 per cent. Uttarakhand has also become a leading state in providing employment to the youth. The unemployment rate has been reduced by 4.4 percent in one year. Uttarakhand has also received the first prize in the country for being the most favorable state in the field of film production. The Chief Minister said that the government has taken many decisions in the interest of the state.
Uttarakhand is the first state in the country to enact a Uniform Civil Code. Work is being done to implement UCC in the state soon. The most effective anti-copying law of the country has been implemented in the state. This has instilled new confidence in the youth of the state. The youth are being selected from every district. In the last three years, appointments have been made to 18500 government posts in the state. Strict laws have been implemented in the state to prevent religious conversions. Which will protect the sanctity and culture of Devbhoomi. More than 5 thousand government lands which were under illegal occupation have been freed from encroachment. Strict action is also being taken in the state by taking a strong stand against the inferior mentality like Love Jihad and Spit Jihad.
The Chief Minister said that a strict land law will also be brought in the upcoming budget session. It’s been a long wait. The state government is constantly working towards connecting the last person of Uttarakhand with the stream of development.
