CM Pushkar Singh Dhami extended his warm greetings and best wishes to the people of the country and the Tibetan community on the occasion of the 90th birthday of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. On the occasion, the Chief Minister announced that the Buddha Temple road would be widened and the tin shed of the Tibetan crematorium would be constructed. The Chief Minister said that His Holiness the Dalai Lama has shown the path of peace, non-violence and compassion to the entire world. His teachings are even more relevant in today’s time when the world is facing many challenges.
CM Pushkar said that the Dalai Lama himself says “My religion is compassion” and this thought makes him the true spiritual guru of the world. The Chief Minister said that Devbhoomi Uttarakhand has always provided love, respect and security to the Tibetan society. He said the state government would continue to extend all possible support to the Tibetan community for their cultural, educational and social development besides safeguarding their interests. The Chief Minister prayed to God to give His Holiness the Dalai Lama good health and long life so that he continues to guide the coming generations with his invaluable thoughts and teachings. On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Shri Satpal Maharaj, MLA Shri Vinod Chamoli, Chairman Waqf Board Shri Shadab Shams, Former Chief Secretary Shri Subhash Kumar, Sangyam Sonam Paldan, Dr. Tsavang Phuntsok, Tenzing Choephel, Mahesh Pandey, Sardar Inderpal Kohli, Rajesh Mittal and people from Tibetan community were present.
