Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the Open Run for Unity Cross Country Run at Pavilion Ground Dehradun to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
Paying tributes to the Great Hero of the Nation, Iron Man of India, Bharat Ratna Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who embodied the spirit of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat, the Chief Minister said that he dedicated every moment of his life for the unity and integrity of the country, his entire life inspires us to serve the nation. The Chief Minister said that the “Run for Unity” is organized every year on the birth anniversary of Sardar Patel on 31st October.
As Diwali coincides with his birth anniversary this year, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had announced in his’ Mann Ki Baat ‘programme that this time’ Run for Unity ‘will be organised on 29th October. He said that Sardar Patel realised the dream of Akhand Bharat through his strong will, farsightedness and unwavering dedication. Bringing together more than 560 princely states in one thread made India a strong nation, and gave us an India that has the spirit of unity despite diversity.
The Chief Minister said that Sardar Patel’s diplomacy and foresight as the first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of the country in building a comprehensive and integrated India has a very important contribution in the history of independent India. Every citizen of the country will always remain indebted to Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who built modern India with his unique determination and vision, for his great contribution in uniting the country. This’ Run for Unity ‘has been organized with the objective of awakening the spirit of’ Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat ‘within every citizen. The spirit of unity and integrity is not just an idea, but the ultimate duty of every Indian.
This is not an ordinary race, but it is also a medium to strengthen the unity and integrity of our country.
