CM Pushkar Singh Dhami released the book ‘Sustainable Wellness of Students: A Collective Responsibility in Higher Education’ at a function held at the Chief Minister’s residence auditorium on Saturday.
CM Pushkar Singh said that universities and higher educational institutions have to make effective efforts towards solving the challenges of student life by taking care of the psychology of the students. Appreciating the publication of the book in this direction, the Chief Minister hoped that the Hindi version of the book would also be prepared. The Chief Minister said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the new National Education Policy has been implemented first in the state of Uttarakhand. Along with imparting quality education to the students and their skill development, special attention is being paid to the welfare of the students.
CM Pushkar Singh said that higher educational institutions have to be developed as centres of knowledge as well as centres of welfare of students. Jointly edited by Prof. Kamal Kishore Pandey, Director, Department of Higher Education, Uttarakhand, Prof. Lata Pandey, HoD, Department of Home Science, DSB Campus, Kumaun University and Dr. Ramanand, Director, Centre for Policy Research, New Delhi, the book titled ‘Sustainable Wellness of Students: A Collective Responsibility in Higher Education “outlines various aspects related to the welfare of students in higher education institutions and the role of stakeholders involved. On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Dharam Pal Gupta, SSP Harjit Singh, Additional DC (general) Roohi Dugg, SDM Sandeep Kumar, Assistant Commissioner Dr. Karamjit Singh, Civil Surgeon Dr. Jugal Kishore, SP Sukhdev Singh, ACS Dr. Jyoti Kaushal, Dr. Parvesh, DSP Rajesh Chhibbar among various others were also present.
