CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said that Indian Sanatan culture is a wonderful confluence of knowledge, science and spirituality, whose principles are being scientifically proven today. He paid tributes to Nobel Laureate, Bharat Ratna Dr. C. V. Raman on the occasion of National Science Day at Vigyan Dham Jhajhara. The Chief Minister informed that Dehradun is becoming the fifth Science City of the country, which will help in giving Uttarakhand a global identity in the field of science, technology and innovation.

CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the state government is making government services more transparent and effective by using technology and innovation. Scientific infrastructure like Science and Innovation Center, Labs on Wheels, Digital Library, STEM Labs and Patent Information Center are being strengthened in the state. In addition, robotics, drone technology and semiconductor laboratories are being promoted.

CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is scaling new heights in the field of science and technology. Modern science is based on the principles of ancient Indian scientists such as Aryabhatta, Acharya Kanada, Acharya Nagarjuna and Maharishi Sushruta. Under the Digital India campaign, cutting-edge technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Cloud Computing are being encouraged so that India can play a leading role in the global technological revolution.

“The country is moving towards self-reliance. The historic success of Chandrayaan-3, Aditya L1 mission and the upcoming Gaganyaan mission reflect India’s scientific achievements. The Uttarakhand government is also making citizen services digital by promoting e-governance. Smart agricultural techniques are being adopted for farmers, while tourists are getting facilities from the e-tourism portal.

CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said that a special dashboard has been developed for the Chardham Yatra, which will help in weather forecasting and travel planning. Data analytics and satellite imagery are being used for research on climate change. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that all these efforts would go a long way in making Uttarakhand a self-reliant and technologically advanced state.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister inspected the under-construction Science City project and visited the Science Museum. MLA Mr. Sahdev Singh Pundir, Secretary Mr. Nitesh Jha, Director General UCOST Prof. Durgesh Pant, and other officers were present on the occasion.
