CM Pushkar Singh Dhami  : Special efforts should be made to connect the youth with employment through Sanskrit language. Certificate courses in Yagna, Karmakanda, Veda should be arranged. Arrangements should be made for better training of 16 sanskars to the children studying Sanskrit. In the first phase, 100 children should be trained and after that every year a target should be set and 16 sanskars should be given to the youth. Those who have played an important role in teaching, writing and preserving and promoting Sanskrit language in the field of Sanskrit should be honored by giving honorarium every year.

This was stated by CM Pushkar Singh Dhami while presiding over the 10th meeting of the General Committee of Uttarakhand Sanskrit Academy at the Secretariat. The Chief Minister said that Uttarakhand has been the land of Yoga, AYUSH, Rishis and Sanskrit. To promote Sanskrit as the second official language of the state, debates, essay writing, shloka competitions in Sanskrit should be held in schools and colleges. Nodal officers should be appointed in the districts to promote Sanskrit. It should be ensured that name plates in all offices are also in Sanskrit language. The Chief Minister said that work should be done to promote Sanskrit in the state by studying the best practices of the states where good work has been done to promote Sanskrit.

More effective efforts should be made to integrate Sanskrit as per the National Education Policy 2020. Sanskrit Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat said that at present a total of 13 villages in one village of every district of the state are being made Sanskrit Gram. It will be extended to the block level in a phased manner. He suggested a system like scholarship scheme for Sanskrit students and incentive scheme for priests to promote Sanskrit in the state. In the meeting, the members of the committee suggested that Sanskrit questions should be added in the competitive examinations. Research in Sanskrit should be encouraged.

The meeting discussed in detail the upcoming action plan to promote Sanskrit in the state. In order to make Sanskrit a common spoken language, 1 lakh people will be imparted training in simple Sanskrit speaking through online and offline medium in a phased manner. Veda Study Centres will be set up to facilitate the study of Sanskrit Vedas. Awards will be given to Sanskrit schools for meritorious work in the field of Sanskrit. A competition will be organized to make short films on various contemporary topics to promote Sanskrit. The conference will be held in the state to exchange information related to the programs and activities being run by the universities, Sanskrit Academy, Sanskrit institutions of the country and abroad for the preservation and promotion of Sanskrit. Secretary, Sanskrit Education, Shri Deepak Kumar gave detailed information about the work being done to promote Sanskrit in the state and the upcoming schemes. During the meeting, a two-minute silence was observed to pay homage to the innocent people who were killed in the cowardly terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. On this occasion, Principal Secretary R. K. Sudhanshu, Principal Secretary Justice Pradeep Pant, Secretary V. Shanmugam, Vice Chancellor Uttarakhand Sanskrit University Haridwar Prof. Dinesh Chandra Shastri, Additional Secretary Lalit Mohan Rayal and other members of the committee were present.
