Medal winners of State level Sports Mahakumbh will also get the benefit of sports reservationCM Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the state level competitions of Sports Mahakumbh Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami saidThat the medal winning players of the state level sports Mahakumbh will also be given the benefit of four percent reservation on direct recruitment posts like other players.Besides, sports kits will also be provided to the players participating in the Khel Mahakumbh at the district level. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami made the above announcements while inaugurating the state level competitions of Khel Mahakumbh 2024 at the Youth Welfare Directorate on Sunday.
On this occasion, he presented an incentive check of Rs 50 lakh to Ameesha Chauhan, a skiing participant in the Deaf Olympics.An incentive check of Rs 02 lakh was given to Sonia, who won the gold medal in the 27th National Federation in Athletics, and an incentive check of Rs 01 lakh was given to Rahul Sarnalia, who won the gold medal in the 22nd National Federation Junior Athletics. Addressing the inauguration ceremony, the CM Pushkar said that the Sports Mahakumbh is a special event. In this, players get a chance to showcase their talent from Gram Panchayat to Block, District to State level. This is helping in developing sports culture in the state. Apart from increasing interest in sports among the youth, Khel Mahakumbh is also contributing in developing the spirit of discipline and teamwork.
The CM Pushkar said that last year more than 3.25 lakh players had participated in the Khel Mahakumbh, this time the event will work to break this record.Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that this time in the Khel Mahakumbh, prize money worth more than Rs 11 crore will be distributed to the winning players of different levels through DBT. Therefore players should come forward and showcase their talent. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the state government has been working to encourage sports and players.In this sequence, by implementing the new sports policy, every possible solution has been found to the challenges faced by the common players. The state government is giving out-of-turn government jobs to national and international level medal winning players.
By establishing the Chief Minister Sports Development Fund, the cash amount given earlier has been increased. The CM Pushkar said that today times have changed, now everyone from parents to teachers are doing the work of encouraging sports and players.In this sequence, to encourage sports along with studies, the state government is giving Rs 1500 to the selected players from the age of eight under the Chief Minister Udyimaan Khiladi Unnayan Yojana.And it is providing an amount of ten thousand rupees per year to the players aged between 14 to 23 years to buy equipment along with a scholarship of two thousand rupees per month. Besides, disabled players and coaches are also being given equal rights. To encourage players, the government has again reinstated sports quota in jobs. Keeping in mind the youth power in this budget, a provision has been made to spend Rs 1700 crore for youth welfare, sports and higher education.
The CM Pushkar said that to provide sports infrastructure for the players, the government is building new sports grounds, stadiums as well as gyms and tracks. Now the government has also decided to build a sports university, work will be started soon by laying its foundation stone. The Chief Minister said that Uttarakhand has got the hosting rights of National and Winter Games,The work of providing basic facilities for this has been completed. To encourage the players of Uttarakhand in the National Games, the State Government will provide additional money equal to their prize money to the medal winning players.Therefore, the players of the state should work hard to make themselves and their state proud in the national games. Sports Minister Smt. Rekha Arya said that the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has And is continuously making efforts for the development of players.
