Special attention should be paid by the health department to improve health facilities. Work should be done in the direction of strengthening the necessary resources in hospitals. It should be ensured that hospitals do not become referral centres. Keeping in mind the public health facilities, the health department should work with ownership. These instructions were given by CM Pushkar Singh Dhami to the officials during a review meeting of the Health Department at the Secretariat on Thursday.
CM Pushkar directed the Chief Secretary to hold a separate meeting of the Health Department to improve the health facilities and keeping in mind the public health facilities in the hospitals. The Chief Minister has also directed to update the status of the Chief Minister’s announcements under the Health Department. The meeting was informed that arrangements are being made to connect super specialists with medical colleges through telemedicine to provide better health facilities in remote areas of the state. During the meeting of the AYUSH Department, the Chief Minister directed that the process of implementation of the CM’s announcement to create two spiritual zones in Uttarakhand should be expedited. He said that Yoga, Wellness and AYUSH are our heritage, work should be done expeditiously to build good health and wellness centers in the state. Work should be done by setting a target every year to promote wellness centers and wellness tourism in the state. Work should also be done in the direction of upgrading the old health and wellness centers. Possibilities of Health and Wellness Centres in GMVN, KMVN and Vibrant Villages should also be worked out. It was informed in the meeting that a Directorate of Yoga would be set up under the State Yoga Policy.
New Yoga centers will be encouraged. After the Investors Summit in the state, the grounding of Rs 1100 crore has started in the field of AYUSH. 300 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in the state are being upgraded as per the standards of N.A.B.H. 149 NA.B.H. Certification of Ayushman Arogya Mandir has been completed. Health Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat was also present during the meeting. The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma, ADC (D) Sandeep Kumar, MC Councillor Mamta Ashu, Civil Surgeon Dr Sukhjeevan Kakkar, District Immunisation Officer Dr Kiran Gill, CICU President Upkar Singh Ahuja, General Secretary Pankaj Sharma, Dr SB Pandhi, besides several others.
