CM Pushkar: There should be simplification in loan procedures and insurance claims, special emphasis should be given on increasing credit deposit ratio

CM Pushkar : Loan procedures and insurance claims to be simplified, credit to deposit ratio to be increased Special emphasis At the meeting of the Chief Minister’s State Level Bankers Committee,CM Pushkar directed the officials to further simplify the procedures for giving loans under various schemes to the beneficiaries so that the people get full benefit of the schemes of the central and state governments. Solving people’s problems should be our top priority. Special attention should be paid towards simplification of insurance claim procedures in agricultural insurance schemes. Special attention should be given to increase the credit deposit ratio in the districts. These instructions were given by the CM Pushkar Dhami to the officers during the special meeting of the State Level Bankers Committee at the Secretariat on Friday.

CM Pushkar said that more efforts should be made to increase the debt deposit ratio of the state. The Credit Deposit Ratio of the State has increased from 54% to 54.26% in FY 202425. More effective efforts should be made to take it to 60 per cent, the Chief Minister said. Special attention should be given to increase the credit deposit ratio in the hilly districts of the state, especially Tehri, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag, Almora, Pauri and Bageshwar districts. The Chief Minister said that to ensure that the benefits of public welfare schemes reach the people at one place in one day, a large-scale camp should be organized in all the districts in October, in which all the departments and bankers should sit together to solve the problems of the people and benefit them from various schemes. It was informed in the meeting that 48 thousand persons per lakh have received insurance coverage under Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana in Uttarakhand, which is more than the national average of 40 thousand. Under Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, the average loan amount disbursed per borrower in the State is Rs. 93,900, which is significantly higher than the national average of Rs. 62,686.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, 39 lakh accounts have been opened in the state so far, which is the highest among the hill states. In the financial year 202425, there was an increase of 10.26 percent in advances and 9.09 percent in deposits in the state. There has been continuous good progress in the last three years under the Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Yojana and Mukhyamantri Swarojgar Yojana of the state government. A total of 6,10,636 farmers of the state have availed the KCC facility, out of which 67 per cent are small and marginal farmers. 70.23 per cent of the self-help groups in the state have credit linkages. The number of SHGs has increased by 21% in the last three years. The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Shri Anand Bardhan, Principal Secretaries Shri R. K. Sudhanshu, Shri R.
