CM quips over the continuous power struggle in Akali Dal

Argues that it’s ironic that Sukhbir will support a candidate running against a member bearing his party’s emblem.

Denounces Akalis for their heinous crimes against the nation and its citizens

Speaking briefly on the predicament facing Shiromani Akali Dal, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann remarked that it was amusing that Sukhbir Singh Badal, the leader of the Akali movement, would be running against a candidate who carried the party’s election emblem.

The Chief Minister claimed in a statement released here today that the current status of Akali Dal is catastrophic because the Akali leaders are fighting for control. He asserted that neither the party’s philosophy nor its powerful leaders have a position. According to Bhagwant Singh Mann, these politicians blatantly don’t even care about the state or its citizens—only their own entrenched political interests.

According to the Chief Minister, one can accurately assess the sorry state of this venerable party of the state by noting that the party president will not support the candidate who bears the Akali Dal emblem in the lead-up to the Jalandhar by-election. According to him, Sukhbir Singh Badal would be running for a different candidate, while “Scales,” the symbol of the Akali Dal, is supporting someone else. These leaders, according to Bhagwant Singh Mann, are undervaluing the people of the state, and this will not go unpunished.

According to the Chief Minister, the people of the state would not overlook these leaders’ wicked deeds and will give them a fitting education in the election. He predicted that the public would show these leaders the door because they would not be persuaded by their disingenuous rhetoric. According to Bhagwant Singh Mann, these leaders have consistently misled the people of the state by prioritizing their personal interests over that of Punjab and Punjabis.
