Launch and Objective
Delhi CM Rekha Gupta has officially launched the Viksit Delhi Chief Minister Internship Programme, aimed at engaging youth in governance and policymaking. The initiative is designed to give young individuals hands-on exposure to government functioning, fieldwork, and policy formulation, thereby empowering them to contribute meaningfully to Delhi’s development.
How to Apply
Eligible and interested candidates can apply online through the official portal: viksitdelhiyuva.org.
Stipend and Duration
Selected interns will be provided a monthly stipend of ₹20,000 for the duration of the three-month programme, offering both financial support and practical learning opportunities.
Selection Process
- The process begins with an online application, which includes four short-answer questions evaluating applicants’ awareness and intent.
- From the initial pool, 300 candidates will be shortlisted for a one-day boot camp featuring interactive sessions, workshops, and an essay-writing round.
- Finally, 150 interns will be chosen to participate in the full internship programme.
Three-Phase Structure of the Internship
- Training Phase: Interns will learn about the Delhi government’s structure, policymaking mechanisms, and major social challenges.
- Fieldwork Phase: Interns will be deployed across all 70 Assembly constituencies to interact with citizens, identify local issues, and suggest practical solutions.
- Policy Drafting Phase: Interns will collaborate to draft policy papers on ten critical topics. The best proposals will be presented to the Chief Minister for review.
The Viksit Delhi Internship Programme serves as a unique opportunity for the youth to gain real-time experience in governance and contribute ideas toward shaping Delhi’s future.
