CM Vishnu Deo Sai addressed the grand concluding ceremony of Rajim Kumbh Kalp, reaffirming its significance as a sacred confluence of spirituality, social harmony, and cultural unity.
Speaking at Rajim, often referred to as the ‘Prayagraj of Chhattisgarh,’ CM Sai emphasized that Rajim Kumbh Kalp is more than just a religious gathering—it is a grand celebration of the state’s rich heritage, traditions, and devotion.
A Festival of Faith and Unity
“From Magh Purnima to Mahashivratri, thousands of devotees gather at Triveni Sangam to take a holy dip and seek blessings from revered saints. This festival embodies the spirit of our state, promoting unity, devotion, and cultural pride,” he remarked.
Restoring the Legacy of Rajim Kumbh Kalp
CM Vishnu Deo Sai highlighted that Rajim Kumbh Kalp was first initiated in 2005 and flourished with public support and blessings from saints. However, disruptions in recent years affected its traditional essence.
“In 2023, the people of Chhattisgarh reinstated their faith in us, allowing the festival to regain its lost grandeur. We have expanded the event to 54 acres, improving infrastructure and creating a larger, more inclusive space for devotees,” he announced.
He further assured that the government is committed to expanding and elevating Rajim Kumbh Kalp into one of India’s most prominent spiritual and cultural events.
Shri Ramlala Darshan Yojana – Strengthening Religious Ties
Highlighting the Shri Ramlala Darshan Yojana, CM Vishnu Deo Sai noted that the government is facilitating pilgrimages to Ayodhya Dham and Kashi Vishwanath, benefiting over 20,000 devotees so far.
“The consecration of Shri Ramlala in Ayodhya, after 500 years of devotion and struggle, is a historic moment for our nation. We are proud to support devotees from Chhattisgarh in witnessing this divine occasion,” he stated.
Empowering Farmers – Advancing Agricultural Growth
CM Vishnu Deo Sai reiterated his government’s dedication to strengthening Chhattisgarh’s agricultural sector, announcing record-breaking paddy procurement achievements.
“Last year, we procured 145 lakh metric tons of paddy. This year, we exceeded that with 149 lakh metric tons. Our commitment to purchasing paddy at ₹3,100 per quintal and ensuring direct payments to farmers within a week has been fulfilled,” he affirmed.
Scaling Rajim Kumbh Kalp to National Prominence
Drawing inspiration from the Prayagraj Mahakumbh, which saw over 70 crore devotees participate, CM Vishnu Deo Sai expressed his vision of expanding Rajim Kumbh Kalp to a national scale. He shared that Chhattisgarh had secured 4.5 acres of land in Prayagraj to establish a dedicated Chhattisgarh Pavilion, offering free accommodation, meals, and spiritual services to over 25,000 devotees.
“This initiative strengthens Chhattisgarh’s religious and cultural presence on a national level, ensuring our heritage gains the recognition it deserves,” he added.
Preserving Cultural and Folk Art Traditions
CM Vishnu Deo Sai praised the contributions of folk artists and cultural performers, whose vibrant performances enhanced the spirit of Rajim Kumbh Kalp. He assured continued government support for cultural and religious festivals, ensuring better infrastructure, accessibility, and facilities for devotees in the future.
“Rajim Kumbh Kalp is a symbol of our faith, culture, and social unity. It connects us to our roots and preserves our Sanatan traditions for generations to come,” he concluded.
Food Minister Shri Dayaldas Baghel emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting Rajim Kumbh as a cultural heritage. Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap called for collective efforts to protect sacred rivers and water bodies.
The ceremony witnessed the presence of key dignitaries, including Kurud MLA Ajay Chandrakar, Rajim MLA Rohit Sahu, Basna MLA Sampat Agarwal, Abhanpur MLA Indra Kumar Sahu, Additional Chief Secretary Subrat Sahu, Raipur Divisional Commissioner Mahadev Kavre, Chhattisgarh Tourism MD Vivek Acharya, and Gariaband Collector Deepak Kumar Agarwal, alongside eminent saints, religious leaders, and thousands of devotees.
