CM Vishnu Deo Sai visited the residence of renowned Hindi author Shri Vinod Kumar Shukla in Raipur today to personally congratulate him on being honored with the prestigious Jnanpith Award.
Praising Shri Shukla’s literary contributions, CM Vishnu Deo Sai stated, “Your remarkable work has brought immense pride to Chhattisgarh. On behalf of the people of the state, I extend my heartfelt congratulations.” As a gesture of respect and admiration, he presented Shri Shukla with a traditional shawl, Shreephal, and a Bastar art sculpture of Nandi.
“This award is not just a personal achievement for Shri Shukla but a moment of pride for the entire state. Meeting him on this special occasion is truly an honor,” Shri Sai remarked during the visit.
During the interaction, CM Vishnu Deo Sai inquired about Shri Shukla’s well-being and fondly recalled that the esteemed writer hails from Rajnandgaon, known as the cultural hub of Chhattisgarh. He highlighted the region’s rich literary heritage, shaped by stalwarts like Gajanan Madhav Muktibodh, Dr. Padumlal Punnalal Bakshi, and Baldev Prasad Mishra.
In response, Shri Shukla reminisced about his childhood in Nandgaon, describing it as an unforgettable chapter of his life. “Though much has changed over time, I still catch glimpses of the Nandgaon I remember whenever I visit,” he shared with a nostalgic smile.
CM Vishnu Deo Sai also met Shri Shukla’s family and conveyed his best wishes to them.
