CM Vishnu Deo Sai graced the closing ceremony of the Late Dilip Singh Judeo Memorial All India Gold Cup Football Tournament in Jashpur. The prestigious tournament, featuring top teams from 16 states, took place at Ranjita Stadium from February 8 to 23, 2025.
Addressing a packed audience,CM Vishnu Deo Sai reaffirmed the government’s commitment to making Chhattisgarh a leading sports hub. He highlighted the state’s incentive policy, announcing cash rewards of ₹3 crore for Olympic gold medalists, ₹2 crore for silver medalists, and ₹1 crore for bronze medalists, emphasizing the state’s dedication to nurturing world-class athletes.
As a major step towards enhancing sports infrastructure, CM Vishnu Deo Sai announced the complete renovation of Ranjita Stadium to meet international standards, enabling it to host national and global sporting events. He noted that with increasing participation and government initiatives, Chhattisgarh is rapidly emerging as a powerhouse in Indian sports.
The final match saw an intense battle between Railway Nagpur and MEG Bengaluru, drawing thousands of spectators from Jashpur and surrounding areas. CM Vishnu Deo Sai, along with esteemed guests, witnessed the thrilling contest and personally congratulated the winners.
Praising the flawless organization of the tournament, CM Vishnu Deo Sai commended the event committee for executing a spectacular competition and assured that even bigger and more prestigious tournaments would be hosted in the future.
For the first time in years, national-level football teams competed at Ranjita Stadium, marking a revival of elite football in the region. The tournament attracted an overwhelming response, with enthusiastic crowds from both urban and rural areas gathering to witness this historic event.
