CM Vishnu Deo Sai attended the closing ceremony of Chhattisgarh Cricket Premier League Season 2 held at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium, Nava Raipur here today. The Chief Minister handed over the Winners Cup to the winning teams of Chhattisgarh Cricket Premier League. The CCPL final match could not be played due to rain. Raipur Rhinos and Rajnandgaon Panthers were declared joint winners.
Addressing the closing ceremony of Chhattisgarh Cricket Premier League Season 2, CM Vishnu Deo Sai said that it is a matter of good fortune for Chhattisgarh that a cricket tournament like CCPL was organised here. In Chhattisgarh, we are making continuous efforts to take forward all sports. Through the Chhattisgarh Cricket Premier League, talented cricket players of the state have got a great opportunity to play. The Chhattisgarh State Cricket Association deserves to be congratulated for this event.
CM Vishnu Deo Sai said that the final match could not be played today due to rain. Raipur Rhinos and Rajnandgaon Panthers were declared joint winners. I congratulate both the teams and wish all the players a bright future. It is a matter of great happiness that despite the bad weather, a large number of cricket lovers are present in the stadium. I hope Chhattisgarh State Cricket Association will continue to organise Chhattisgarh Cricket Premier League in the same manner.
The Chhattisgarh Cricket Premier League Season 2 was held from June 6 to June 15. Raipur Rhinos, Rajnandgaon Panthers, Raigarh Lions, Bastar Bison, Bilaspur Bulls and Surguja Tigers were the teams that participated in the tournament.
Captains of Raipur Rhinos and Rajnandgaon Panthers, Shri Amandeep Khare and Shri Ajay Mandal received the Winners Cup from the Chief Minister.
Sports Minister Shri Tankaram Verma, Rajya Sabha MP and Vice President of BCCI Shri Rajiv Shukla, MLAs Guru Khushwant Saheb, Shri Baldev Singh Bhatia, Shri Prabhtej Singh Bhatia along with office bearers of Chhattisgarh State Cricket Association and a large number of cricket lovers were present on the occasion.
