Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai paid tribute to Amar Shaheed Gend Singh in observance of his martyrdom day.
Honoring Gend Singh, who gave his life for India’s independence, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai remarked that even before the First War of Independence in 1857, Gend Singh had spoken out against British oppression and exploitation.
Shaheed Gend Singh, who fought for the rights of the tribal people of Bastar, was hanged on January 20, 1825, in front of the palace at Paralkot. He gave his life in defense of his motherland and for its dignity.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai further stated that the enduring sacrifice of Gend Singh, leader of the Paralkot Liberation Movement, continues to inspire us to commit ourselves to the service of the nation.
