CM Vishnu Deo Sai attends the 73rd annual convention of the Brihan Maharashtra Mandal program on January 11
CM Vishnu Deo Sai graced the 73rd annual convention of the Brihan Maharashtra Mandal, a three-day event held at Chaubey Colony, Raipur. During the event, he announced financial assistance of Rs.10 lakh to support the successful organisation of the convention. Shri Sai also honoured eminent members of the Marathi community for their exceptional contributions to society by presenting them with mementoes.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister paid homage to the pioneers of the Marathi community and underscored the cultural bond between Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh. He highlighted the historical ties between the two states, referencing the CP Berar era when both shared Nagpur as their capital. Shri Sai recalled his connection with Maharashtra, mentioning that his grandfather, the late Shri Buddhnath Sai, served as a nominated legislator during that period. He paid tribute to notable Marathi leaders, including Shri Balasaheb Deshpande, founder of the Akhil Bharatiya Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, acknowledging his lifelong dedication to improving the lives of tribal communities.
CM Vishnu Deo Sai noted the significance of the convention coinciding with the anniversary of Lord Ram’s consecration in his temple, extending his best wishes for the event’s success. He also released the convention’s commemorative magazine, celebrating the efforts and achievements of the Marathi community.
CM Vishnu Deo Sai lauded the Brihan Maharashtra Mandal’s contributions to education and public service, expressing pride in honouring talented individuals from various fields such as literature, arts, social welfare, health, and environmental conservation. He emphasised that such recognition promotes inspiration and mutual respect.
Highlighting the cultural harmony between Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh,CM Vishnu Deo Sai stated that the shared heritage and brotherhood serve as a foundation for collective progress. He commended Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s enduring legacy in protecting Sanatan Dharma and reaffirmed his government’s commitment to societal development through education, healthcare, and industrial policies. He advocated for continued cultural events to strengthen the understanding and appreciation of traditions from neighbouring states, enriching Chhattisgarh’s cultural fabric.
MLAs Shri Rajesh Munat, Shri Sunil Soni, and Shri Motilal Sahu, along with Brihan Maharashtra Mandal President Shri Milind Mahajan, Raipur Maharashtra Mandal President Shri Ajay Kale, Dr. Rampratap Singh, Dr. Sunil Kirwai, and numerous community members were present.
