CM Vishnu Deo Sai Introduces Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Bhumiheen Krishi Mazdoor Kalyan Yojana for Landless Workers
CM Vishnu Deo Sai : “In keeping with the promise made to landless laborers in Chhattisgarh, another commitment of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has been fulfilled,” stated CM during the launch of the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Bhumiheen Krishi Mazdoor Kalyan Yojana at the New Circuit House auditorium today.
CM Vishnu Deo Sai highlighted that while a significant portion of Chhattisgarh’s population relies on agriculture, many individuals do not own land and sustain themselves as agricultural laborers. “To assist them, we pledged to provide annual financial aid of Rs 10,000 to landless agricultural laborers. Today, we are honoring that commitment,” he said.
Under this scheme, 5,62,112 beneficiaries across the state will receive financial assistance, with a total of approximately Rs 562.11 crore being distributed. The initiative aims to support landless agricultural laborer families by boosting their overall income.
The scheme extends its benefits not only to landless agricultural laborers but also to landless families involved in various occupations such as forest produce collection, livestock herding, carpentry, blacksmithing, cobbling, barbering, and washing, as well as those working under the Pauni-Pasari system. Additionally, families of Pujari, Baiga, Gunia, and Majhi, who serve as traditional worshippers in tribal temples in scheduled areas, are also included.
During the launch event, CM Vishnu Deo Sai distributed cheques of Rs 10,000 to the beneficiaries. He described this initiative as a historic step toward achieving economic prosperity for landless laborer families in the state.
“This scheme will not only enhance their financial well-being but also ensure better access to education, healthcare, and brighter prospects for their children,” he said. “Our vision is to bring happiness to every poor and landless family in the state. This initiative will act as a catalyst for transforming their lives.”
The Chief Minister highlighted that the state government has fulfilled most of the promises made by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to the people of Chhattisgarh within just one year. “In our very first cabinet meeting, we approved the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana for 18 lakh families in need. We also expanded the eligibility criteria for the scheme, allowing families with two-wheelers, up to two and a half acres of irrigated land, or five acres of non-irrigated land, and a monthly income of Rs 15,000 to qualify for housing benefits,” he explained.
He further announced that a survey for the Awas Plus scheme is underway, ensuring that the benefits of good governance reach every citizen in Chhattisgarh. “As part of Modi Ji’s guarantee, we have also fulfilled our commitment to procuring 21 quintals of paddy per acre at the rate of Rs 3,100 per quintal,” he added.
The Chief Minister emphasized that farmers are now receiving the full price for their produce, leading many who had previously abandoned farming to return to agriculture. “We have increased the price of tendupatta collection from Rs 4,000 per standard sack to Rs 5,500 per standard sack, benefiting over 12.5 lakh people in tribal areas,” he said.
He also pointed out that more than 70 lakh women in the state are receiving monthly financial assistance through the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, with a total of Rs 7,182 crore disbursed in 11 installments. “Through the Ramlala Ayodhya Dham Darshan Yojana, over 20,000 devotees from Chhattisgarh have had the opportunity to visit Ayodhya for Darshan,” he added. “One by one, we are fulfilling every promise made under Modi Ji’s guarantee.”
“Our government is running welfare schemes for all sections of society, ensuring that the benefits reach those who need them,” the Chief Minister said. “Today, I am pleased to see that our efforts are bringing joy to people’s lives and fulfilling our promises.”
Revenue Minister Shri Tank Ram Verma, in his speech, stated that Chhattisgarh has seen significant development since the current government took office. “Under ‘Modi’s guarantee and Vishnu’s good governance,’ our government is effectively implementing major schemes,” he said. “Our Chief Minister is turning Deendayal Ji’s vision into reality.”
The event was attended by MLAs Shri Anuj Sharma, Shri Purandar Mishra, Shri Motilal Sahu, Shri Sunil Soni, Guru Khushwant Saheb, along with Acting Chief Secretary Renu Pillay, Revenue Secretary Smt. Shehla Nigar, and senior officials, employees, and beneficiaries from across the state.
