CM Vishnu Deo Sai has paid tributes to nationalist leader, eminent lawyer, enlightened journalist and great freedom fighter ‘Deshbandhu’ Chittaranjan Das on his birth anniversary on 5th November. Recalling his unparalleled contribution to the nation, Shri Sai said that Deshbandhuji left an indelible mark in India’s freedom struggle. He never compromised on his principles and thoughts. Like many patriots, he gave up his advocacy on the occasion of the non-cooperation movement and gave all his property to the medical college and hospital. He was also known for his sharp intellect and journalistic approach. The countrymen fondly called him ‘Deshbandhu’.
Shri Sai said that Deshbandhu Ji was greatly influenced by the idea of Swadeshi. He worked for the reconstruction of villages, establishment of local self-government and promotion of cottage industries in Bengal.He served his country till the end of his life. Deshbandhu ji’s sacrifice and patriotism will always be remembered.
