Under the leadership of CM Vishnu Deo Sai, the benefits of the schemes of the Chhattisgarh government are now reaching the last person of the society. People of remote areas are being benefitted from the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and the beneficiaries are now living comfortably in their own houses. According to the information received, about 74,346 houses have been completed in Jashpur district.
The story of a simple family of village Khatanga in Duldula development block of Jashpur district is a living example of this, where three schemes of the government have given a new direction to their lives simultaneously.
Sumitra Bai, wife of Shri Suresh Ram, says, Earlier we used to live in a kutcha house. Be it rain or heat, the fear was always there. Water drips fear of falling walls and fear of snakes, scorpions separately at night. But the pucca house got from the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is now like a new world for us. Now there is no fear or worry, the house is also clean and the children have got a good environment for reading and writing.
His daughter Kumari Sangeeta says, We could not even study properly when there was a kutcha house. It was very difficult during the rainy season. Now that I have a house, it feels like home. We are very happy now.
Sumitra Bai further explains that by getting gas cylinders and stoves from the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, we are now able to cook smoke-free food. Earlier, wood had to be brought from the forest, it was very difficult to light a fire. Burning sensation in eyes, coughing used to take more time. Now let’s make food easily in the kitchen.
“I get Rs 1,000 every month under the Mukhyamantri Mahtari Vandana Yojana. From that we buy essential items like oil, salt, soap. Sometimes if the daughter has to take a copy-book for school, then the work goes on with that. The family expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai.
