A grand and traditional celebration of Hareli Tihar took place today at the Chief Minister’s residence in Civil Lines, Raipur. The premises were beautifully decorated with elements reflecting rural life, capturing the spirit of Chhattisgarh’s farming heritage. Speaking on the occasion, CM Vishnu Deo Sai reaffirmed that the welfare of farmers is the topmost priority for his government. He described Hareli Tihar as a festival deeply embedded in Chhattisgarh’s agricultural traditions and cultural identity, fostering a deep connection with nature and one’s roots. As the entire state celebrated Hareli with great enthusiasm, the Chief Minister’s residence also came alive with festive energy and cultural vibrance.
CM Vishnu Deo Sai highlighted that from Bastar to Sarguja, Hareli is celebrated uniquely in each region, but the common thread is devotion and joy. He stressed the importance of nurturing nature, just as nature nurtures us. “Hareli is more than just an agricultural festival—it is a tribute to greenery and our bond with the environment,” he said. Offering his prayers, he wished for the continued blessings of Chhattisgarh Mahtari and the prosperity of all farmers.
Announcing a major policy step,CM Vishnu Deo Sai stated that the government has made a landmark decision to purchase paddy at ₹3,100 per quintal, with the procurement limit set at 21 quintals per acre. This initiative aims to directly benefit farmers throughout the state. He also shared his vision for a developed Chhattisgarh by 2047, supported by a comprehensive Vision Document. He reiterated his government’s commitment to completely eliminate corruption from the state.
On this occasion, Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh remarked that Hareli embodies the cultural, traditional, and agricultural spirit of Chhattisgarh. Extending his greetings to the people, he noted that the festival reinforces the deep relationship between humans, nature, farming, and livestock. He said it is believed that on Hareli, Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati descend to bless farmers and inspect their fields, which is why farmers worship their tools, oxen, and land with great devotion.
Dr. Singh further emphasized that under the leadership of CM Vishnu Deo Sai , Chhattisgarh is witnessing remarkable progress in agriculture. He shared that over ₹90,000 crore has been transferred to farmers through MSP procurement and various schemes—a historic achievement by any state in the country. “This reflects that Chhattisgarh has a Chief Minister who not only makes promises but also respects and rewards the hard work of farmers,” he said.
The celebration was also attended by Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao, Shri Vijay Sharma, Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Agriculture Minister Shri Ram Vichar Netam, Revenue Minister Shri Tank Ram Verma, Women and Child Development Minister Mrs. Laxmi Rajwade, along with MLAs, heads of corporations and commissions, and other public representatives.
