CM Vishnu Deo Sai : The roots of Buddhist tradition are very deep in Chhattisgarh

The roots of Buddhist tradition are very deep in Chhattisgarh and imbibing Lord Buddha’s message of love, peace and compassion, the state government is moving on the path of development. CM Vishnu Deo Sai said this while addressing the unveiling ceremony of the newly installed grand statue of Lord Buddha at Hotel Ground Complex, Mainpat in Surguja district today. On the occasion, the Chief Minister paid floral tributes to the statue of Lord Buddha and wished happiness, prosperity and peace for the people of the state.

In his address, Chief Minister Tsai expressed gratitude to the Tibetan community for the invitation on this auspicious occasion. CM Vishnu Deo Sai said that there are many places in Chhattisgarh where Lord Buddha is worshipped. Buddhist, Jain and Sanatan traditions come together in Sirpur, which is a unique example of the inclusive culture of the state.

Remembering the Dalai Lama on his 90th birthday,CM Vishnu Deo Sai said that his life is a living symbol of Lord Buddha’s principles of compassion, love and peace. His message to today’s world is a source of new hope and positivity. He said that leaders from across the world, including Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, have extended birthday greetings to the Dalai Lama, which shows the deep impact that Lord Buddha’s thoughts have on global life.

CM Vishnu Deo Sai  said that Mainpat is a place full of natural beauty and cultural diversity, which thrills the tourists. There is immense tourism potential here, and the state government is committed to its overall development. The Chief Minister informed that tourism has been given special priority in the new industrial policy of the state, and special incentives will be provided to those starting home stay facilities in areas like Mainpat.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister announced Rs 10 lakh for construction of CC road from Saila Resort to Buddhist temple at Mainpat and Rs 20 lakh for construction of shed at the ancient Buddhist temple as demanded by the Tibetan Cooperative Society.

CM Vishnu Deo Sai planted a sapling on the occasion. Notably, the Chief Minister was accorded a warm welcome as per traditional Tibetan customs at the programme. People enthusiastically met the Chief Minister with the Tricolour in their hands, making the atmosphere joyous.

Sarguja MP Shri Chintamani Maharaj, Sitapur MLA Shri Ramkumar Toppo, Collector Shri Vilas Bhoskar, Settlement Officer Ms. Swang Yangso, President of Tibetan Cooperative Society Shri Tamding Tsering, Monastery Head Lama Dubje, Lama Jinpa along with a large number of members of the Tibetan community were present on the occasion.
