CM Vishnu Deo Sai visited various government department stalls during the inauguration of the Tatapani Mahotsav on January 14, closely observing the impact of local art, culture, and government schemes.
CM Vishnu Deo Sai met with Shri Shivmangal, a resident of Ara village in Rajpur, who has been working as a potter for 25 years. Shri Shivmangal shared that receiving an electric potter’s wheel has made it easier to earn his livelihood. His family earns an annual income of Rs. 2-3 lakh by making traditional earthen vessels. Shri Shivmangal’s craft was showcased at the festival through a live exhibition of pots, kulhads, and other earthenware. The Chief Minister praised him for promoting traditional art. During this visit, at the request of weaver Shri Saudan Singh, the Chief Minister also operated a charkha, the symbol of Gandhi’s self-reliance. The Chief Minister stated that the state government is making every possible effort to promote self-sufficiency and self-reliance.
CM Vishnu Deo Sai visited theme-based stalls set up by 28 departments. These stalls showcased various schemes including livelihood models, Amrit Sarovar, biodiversity conservation, organic farming, advanced agricultural techniques, floriculture, Saur Sujala Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission, traffic awareness, animal disease control, and the Nalanda Parisar model. The Shringar Sadan stall demonstrated live bangle-making techniques. The Millet Cafe exhibited delicious food items made from local millets, while the Tribal Food stall presented tribal traditions, musical instruments, bamboo crafts, and a glimpse of Devgudi.
CM Vishnu Deo Sai stated that these exhibitions aim to empower local communities and preserve their cultural heritage. Appreciating the stall operators and participants, he stated that this event serves as an excellent medium to bring local art, culture, and government schemes closer to the people.
