Minister O.P. Choudhary : Following the Minister’s instructions, the Housing Board Commissioner has issued orders.
Minister for Housing and Environment , Minister O.P. Choudhary reiterated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, the Chhattisgarh government follows a strict zero-tolerance policy towards corruption. He emphasized that the quality of construction projects will be upheld, and any administrative irregularities will not be tolerated. To ensure good governance, the government is taking firm actions against any misconduct in its operations.
As a result, Shri C. K. Thakur, Executive Engineer, and Shri Neeraj Thakur, Assistant Engineer, both from the Chhattisgarh Housing Board in Jagdalpur, have been immediately suspended due to irregularities discovered in construction work.
Following the Minister’s directive, Shri Kundan Kumar, Commissioner of Chhattisgarh Housing Board, issued suspension orders for the two engineers. Additionally, a notice was issued to blacklist the contractor, M/s N. K. Construction from Durg, which was involved in the construction work of the Jagdalpur Housing Board.
The action came after complaints were raised regarding the construction of GAD residential buildings in Bhairamgarh, Bhopalpatnam, and Usur (Awapalli) blocks of Bijapur district, prompting an investigation. The inquiry revealed financial discrepancies and project delays, leading to a notice for the cancellation of M/s N. K. Construction’s registration. It was also found that the contractor received final payments during the previous government’s tenure for work not completed.
