CM Vishnu Dev Sai : The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today released the 19th instalment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana from Bhagalpur, Bihar, transferring over Rs. 22,000 crore to the bank accounts of 9.8 crore farmers across the country. These include 25.95 lakh farmers of Chhattisgarh who received Samman Nidhi of Rs. 599.38 crore.CM Vishnu Dev Sai participated in the programme held at Indira Gandhi Agriculture University campus in Raipur, congratulated the farmers and felicitated them.
CM Vishnu Dev Sai said that the respect of annadatas is equal to the respect of Maa Annapurna. In the last 14 months, about one lakh crore rupees have been deposited in the accounts of farmers, which has strengthened their economic condition. Due to fair price to the farmers their prosperity has increased and they are moving towards modern agriculture. The prosperity of farmers has strengthened rural development and affected the urban economy. He stressed that the participation of farmers is most important in the development of Chhattisgarh and their contribution is making it possible to build a developed Chhattisgarh and a developed India.
CM Vishnu Dev Saiinformed that under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, an amount of Rs 9, 712.58 crore has been given to the farmers of the state so far. The number of farmers getting the benefit of this scheme has increased by 2.75 lakh as compared to the year 2023-24. This includes 2.34 lakh forest lease holders and 32,500 Special Backward Tribes farmers. The requirement of agricultural land has been relaxed to benefit the farmers, especially from the special backward tribes.
CM Vishnu Dev Sai said that Prime Minister Modi had given a guarantee of Rs. 3,100 per quintal and 21 quintals per acre of paddy to the farmers, which his government fulfilled. Also, the promise of payment of bonus due for two years was also kept. Within 15 days of taking oath, bonus of Rs 3,716 crore has been deposited in the accounts of 13 lakh farmers. In the last Kharif season, 145 lakh metric tonnes of paddy was procured, including its value and bonus amount, farmers got a total of Rs 49,000 crore. A record 149 lakh metric tonnes of paddy was procured this Kharif season, and a total amount of Rs 52,000 crore was transferred to the farmers through various schemes.
CM Vishnu Dev Saisaid that Prime Minister Modi is continuously working on the goal of doubling the income of farmers, in which priority is being given to horticulture crops, crop diversification and animal husbandry. The Government of Chhattisgarh is also promoting these sectors and MoU with National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) to encourage milk production has led to positive steps towards milk revolution in the state.
In addition, the government has provided assistance of Rs 10,000 per farmer to 5.62 lakh landless farmers under the Deendayal Upadhyaya Landless Agricultural Labourers Welfare Scheme.
Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam, former Chhattisgarh State Forest Board Chairman Ram Pratap Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Indira Gandhi Agriculture University Girish Chandel, Agriculture Production Commissioner Shehla Nigar, Director of Agriculture Department Dr. Saransh Mitter and a large number of farmers were present on the occasion.
