CM Vishnudev : Big initiative for houseless families in Chhattisgarh, Process of providing permanent houses to 18 lakh families accelerated
- Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana: Finance Department released amount of Rs 2560 crore
CM Vishnudev : Chhattisgarh government in its resolution letter had expressed commitment to provide permanent houses to 18 lakh houseless families of the state under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) under ‘Modi’s Guarantee’.
This important decision was approved in the first meeting of the Council of Ministers under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai. The Chhattisgarh government has taken another important step towards fulfilling its promise of providing permanent houses to 18 lakh houseless families of the state under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.The Finance Department, including Central and State share, has released an amount of Rs 2,560 crore to be transferred to the beneficiaries.
CM Vishnudev Sai has said that our aim is to provide permanent houses under this scheme to all the houseless families of the state. This initiative is not only a residential facility but also a means of social and economic upliftment.
An amount of Rs 5,144 crore has been released so far
According to the information received from the Finance Department, a total amount of Rs 5,144 crore has been released so far in this financial year. First installment Central share Rs 1,550.30 crore, State share Rs 1,033.70 crore total Rs 2,584 crore and second installment Central share Rs 1,535.40 crore, State share of Rs 1,024.60 crore, a total of Rs 2,560 crore has been released. The amount will be transferred directly to the beneficiaries’ accounts soon, which will speed up the construction work.
Finance Minister Shri OP Chaudhary said that efforts are also being made to get the amount of the third installment under the scheme from the Government of India in this financial year, so that the construction of their houses can be completed soon.
