CM Vishnudev Sai : Will make rapid efforts to fulfill the resolve to end Naxalism by March 2026
- Bastar is free from Naxalism and moving towards development
- Instructions given to quickly complete the construction work of 15,000 houses of surrendered Naxalites and Naxal victim families under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
CM Vishnudev Sai : A major review meeting on Naxal scenario was held today at Police Headquarters, Nava Raipur under the chairmanship of CM Vishnudev Sai. On this occasion, senior officials of the state including Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Shri Vijay Sharma were present. Evaluation of efforts to eradicate Naxalism and future strategies were discussed in the meeting.
CM Vishnudev Sai said in the meeting that our government has fought a decisive battle against Naxalism in 11 months. Referring to the Union Home Minister’s resolution to end Naxalism by March 2026, he saidThat we have to prepare effective strategies in that direction. The Chief Minister said that there is a need to further intensify the public awareness campaign for Naxal surrender.The people of Bastar region now want to free themselves from Naxalism and move towards development, a glimpse of which was also seen in the recently concluded Bastar Olympics. He surrendered Naxalites under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana andInstructions were given to quickly complete the construction work of 15,000 houses for Naxal victim families. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that with collective efforts and public participation, Chhattisgarh will soon be free from Naxalism.The priority of the Government is to improve the quality of life of the local communities and achieve new heights of development.
In the meeting, Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Shri Vijay Sharma said that the state government is taking concrete action to end Naxalism. He made efforts to involve civil society in the campaign and to surrender the Naxalites.Emphasis was laid on intensifying the ongoing efforts. Mr Sharma stressed the need to break the financial network of Naxalites and said all possible measures would be taken to achieve the target.
Other topics including expansion of security grid, setting up of new camps in Naxal affected areas, rehabilitation and housing schemes for surrendered Naxalites and Joint Action Plan were discussed in the meeting.
In the meeting, Director General of Police Mr. Ashok Juneja, Additional Chief Secretary Home Mr. Manoj Pinguva, Additional Director General of Police Mr. Pradeep Gupta, Mr. SRP Kalluri, Mr. Vivekananda Sinha,Shri Amit Kumar, Secretary to Chief Minister Shri Rahul Bhagat, Secretary Home Smt. Neha Champawat, Shri Himshikhar Gupta and other officials were present.
