CM Vishnudev Sai : The Jal Jeevan Mission, one of the priorities of the Chhattisgarh government, is changing both the picture and the destiny of the villages today. This change can be seen in village Kujari of Gramme Panchayat Boomtel under Manora development block of Jashpur district, where tap water is now reaching every household.
63 households in this village, located about 10 km from the district headquarters, are getting regular water supply through household tap connections. These connections connected to the high-level reservoir have freed the villagers from the water crisis.
Villager Ashok Bhagat says, earlier we had to depend on hand pump to fill water, now the tap has been installed at home and there has been a big relief. He thanked the Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai and the district administration and said that this facility is a great gift for them.
After the water supply was fully operational in the village, ‘Har Ghar Jal’ verification programme was held, in which the villagers participated and expressed their satisfaction towards the scheme. After this, Kujari was declared as Har Ghar Jal Gramme and the Public Health Mechanics Department Jashpur congratulated the villagers on this achievement.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai says that this is not just a tap water scheme, it is a water of respect, convenience and self-respect. Providing water to every village, every household is the topmost priority of our government, and we are moving fast in this direction. Through the Jal Jeevan Mission, not only the villagers are getting the facility of clean drinking water, but the women have also got relief.
