Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath launched the ‘UP-Agriz’ and ‘AI Pragya’ programmes during a meeting with World Bank Group President Ajay Banga at his official residence.
The UP-Agriz project will promote modern farming in Purvanchal and Bundelkhand regions, which will increase agricultural productivity and benefit about 10 lakh farmers. Under ‘AI Pragyaan’, 10 lakh youth will be trained in AI and digital technologies to make the state a hub of artificial intelligence.
CM Yogi Adityanath said that Uttar Pradesh is today a major engine of development in the country, and these two schemes will prove to be important in making the state a trillion dollar economy. He thanked the World Bank for its involvement in strengthening the agriculture sector and said that this institution has always been helpful in the development of Uttar Pradesh.
‘UP-Agriz ‘is a Rs 4,000 crore project, in which a loan of Rs 2,737 crore will be provided by the World Bank for six years. Women farmers will also get special benefit from this project, and 500 farmers will be sent abroad to learn modern technology. This will benefit farmers of 21 districts of Purvanchal and 7 districts of Bundelkhand.
CM Yogi Adityanath also informed that soon ‘CM Poshan Mission’ will be launched, which will work to provide nutritious food to children up to 6 years. For this, a team will go to Indonesia and study the plan there.
Under the ‘AI Pragyaan’ programme, the youth will be trained in areas such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, data analytics and cyber security. This will not only increase employment but will also increase technical efficiency in education, health, agriculture and governance. Big companies like Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Intel will participate in this scheme.
A short film was also screened on the occasion and many senior ministers, officials and representatives of the World Bank were present.
