Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced a significant increase in the monthly allowances of Shiksha Mitras and instructors. From April onwards, Shiksha Mitras will receive ₹18,000 per month instead of ₹10,000, while instructors’ pay will rise to ₹17,000 per month. The government also confirmed the implementation of an immediate payment system to ensure timely disbursement.
Big Boost for Education Workers Before Holi
This announcement comes as a major pre-Holi gift for education sector workers. Approximately 1.43 lakh Shiksha Mitras and 25,000 instructors are set to benefit from this increase. The CM Yogi Adityanath made the announcement during his budget speech in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly on Friday, highlighting the government’s commitment to improving the welfare of educational staff.
Focus on Education Reforms
During his nearly three-hour-long budget address, CM Yogi Adityanath emphasized reforms in the state’s education sector. He announced the enhancement of Shiksha Mitras’ and instructors’ allowances, and also revealed that all teachers would now receive cashless medical facilities up to ₹5 lakh. Criticizing the previous SP government, he stated that Shiksha Mitras were previously paid only ₹3,000 per month. The CM Yogi Adityanath also mentioned various initiatives in higher education, including grading reforms, scholarships for studying in the UK, and support for startups.

Two Economic Zones to Be Developed
CM Yogi Adityanath announced the creation of two economic zones in Uttar Pradesh. The first will include Lucknow, Barabanki, Sitapur, Unnao, Raebareli, and Hardoi, while the second will comprise Varanasi, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Chandauli, Mirzapur, Bhadohi, and Sonbhadra. These zones aim to boost regional economic development and attract investment in the state.
Formation of State Data Centre Authority
The Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath revealed plans to establish the State Data Centre Authority as the supreme regulator and architect for the state’s digital infrastructure. This authority will collect, integrate, and analyze data from various departments to guide policy-making and ensure critical decision-making through data-driven insights.
Free AI Tools for Youth
Highlighting the importance of technology, CM Yogi announced that 25 lakh youth in the state will get free access to AI tools, empowering students and young professionals to leverage artificial intelligence for learning and innovation.
Departments to Submit Proposals by May 15
CM Yogi also instructed all government departments to submit their budget proposals by May 15, 2026, ensuring timely release of funds and smooth execution of state projects.
