The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today virtually laid the foundation stone of the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Hospital to be built at Marshal’s Pitch, Kankarkheda in Meerut district, on the occasion of the 9th Ayurveda Day. The state government has requested AIIMS New Delhi to give land and set up a satellite centre in Ghaziabad so that people of Hapur, Meerut, Ghaziabad and Bulandshahr can get the benefit of AIIMS Delhi. An agreement has been reached on this. The programme will be started soon.

The Chief Minister said that Uttar Pradesh is the biggest beneficiary of the Ayushman Bharat scheme. More than 5.14 crore citizens have received Ayushman Golden Cards in the state. Facilities for workers have also been increased. Under the guidance of the Prime Minister, the State Government through the Department of Labour and Employment has set up Atal Residential Schools in all the mandals for free residential education of the children of construction workers. This is a step towards a radical change in the field of education, in which children of registered construction workers are getting free education, accommodation, educational and all-round development. For the free marriage of the children of construction workers, a mass marriage scheme and an amount of Rs. 75,000 is being made available for the children. Action is also being taken to provide additional funds to the children of construction workers if they go for higher studies.

The Chief Minister said that in line with the Prime Minister’s mantra of ‘Sabka Saath-Sabka Vikas, “every section of the society is being given the benefit of schemes without discrimination. Under the Ujjwala Yojana, 1.86 crore families have been given LPG connections. The state government is providing free cylinders during Diwali and Holi. For the last four and a half years, free ration is being provided to 80 crore needy people in the country, including 15 crore beneficiaries of the state.

The Chief Minister said that Meerut has emerged as the biggest infrastructure hub of western Uttar Pradesh. Seven years ago, the distance between Delhi and Meerut used to be covered in three and a half to four hours. Today a 12-lane expressway has been built between Delhi and Meerut. Now this distance is covered in just 45 minutes. Meerut and Delhi have been connected by rapid rail, which covers the distance of Delhi in just 40 minutes. Ganga Expressway is going to connect Meerut to Prayagraj. After the construction of the expressway, this distance will be completed in just six to seven hours. Mahakumbh Prayagraj-2025 will provide an opportunity to the people of Western Uttar Pradesh to take the virtue of bathing at Triveni Sangam. The Chief Minister said that the government has taken steps to make Meerut a hub of sports goods in the field of ODOP. In the memory of hockey wizard Major Dhyan Chand, the first sports university of the state is being built in Meerut district. The Chief Minister said that as a major hub of education, new universities and technical centers are being established in Meerut. Today, they landed at the Meerut airstrip and reached Kankarkheda in just 15 minutes. There is a lot of potential in Meerut. Jewar is the largest international airport in the country. A few minutes away from here, Twi City, Film City, Apparel Park, Medical Device Park are going to be built in the Yamuna Authority area. All the work to fulfill the aspirations of the youth will be seen in Meerut and the surrounding areas. To give a new height to the chain of development here, a 100 bedded ESIC Hospital with modern facilities for insured workers will be constructed at a cost of Rs 150 crore through the Labour Department in Meerut. This foundation stone is going to be laid by the Prime Minister.

The Chief Minister wished everyone on the occasion of Dhanteras, Diwali, Bhaiya Dooj, Govardhan Puja. He said that the first Deepotsav of Ayodhya Dham is going to be held on October 30 after Lord Shri Ram Lalla is installed in the grand temple built in Ayodhya.
