UP CM Yogi Adityanath directs BJP workers to prioritize SIR voter list revision, organize awareness camps, and ensure no eligible voter is left out across Uttar Pradesh.
Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has issued a strict directive to BJP MLAs and party office-bearers, emphasizing that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists must be treated as a top priority.
During a meeting held at the Annexe Auditorium, the CM highlighted that the next one month should be dedicated entirely to completing the voter list revision process. He instructed BJP cadres to go door-to-door in every booth, identifying individuals who have submitted their SIR forms and those who have not.
CM Yogi Adityanath also called for organizing voter-awareness camps across all districts and assigning specific responsibilities to senior party workers. He stressed the importance of tracking voter mobility, including people who have moved out or shifted into new areas. Newly married women must ensure their names are updated on voter lists at their new addresses, and individuals migrating to Gorakhpur for employment should also be included without fail.
The CM Yogi Adityanath directed district presidents to form teams of ten workers per booth, with equal representation of men and women, to engage with voters and verify SIR form submissions. MLAs were instructed to closely monitor each booth, maintain regular contact with booth-level workers, ensure proper form submission, and pay attention to notices during the claims-and-objections phase. He emphasized that voter camps in rural areas should be conducted with the same rigor as those in cities.
Addressing concerns about opposition protests against SIR, Adityanath warned BJP workers not to underestimate their efforts, noting that opposition cadres are actively working on the ground. He urged party workers to reach every voter, ensuring no eligible voter is left out and preventing inclusion of bogus entries.
The meeting was attended by Gorakhpur in-charge minister Swatantradev Singh, NISHAD Party national president Sanjay Nishad, BJP state vice-president and SIR in-charge Dharmendra Singh, regional president Sahajanand Rai, local MLAs, district presidents, and SIR convenors.
