An interactive meeting with the public representatives of Lucknow division was held under the chairmanship of CM Yogi Adityanath at his official residence today. It was attended by 42 MLAs and 5 MLCs from Lucknow, Hardoi, Rae Bareli, Unnao, Sitapur and Lakhimpur Kheri. They presented new projects related to their respective areas, basic needs and public needs to the Chief Minister.
CM Yogi Adityanath said that the local experience and understanding of the people’s representatives plays a big role in better formulation and effective implementation of policies. This communication system is a strong bridge of trust between the government and the society. He directed the officials to implement 3,397 projects with an estimated cost of Rs 42,891 crore in a phased manner on priority basis, taking into account the suggestions of public representatives.
CM Yogi Adityanath said that every district has historical, cultural and social characteristics, keeping in mind which plans should be made. He described Lucknow as a confluence of modernity and culture, Hardoi as a land of austerity, Rae Bareli as a centre of literature and freedom struggle, Unnao as a land of freedom fighters, Sitapur as a place of religious dignity and Lakhimpur Kheri as a symbol of biodiversity and Tharu culture.
CM Yogi Adityanath stressed on regular review of projects, clear plan of action, timeliness and continuous communication. He said that the government is taking every issue of public interest seriously and the expectations of the people’s representatives will be given priority.
CM Yogi Adityanath directed the Public Works Department to expedite the work on the proposals related to roads, bridges, flyovers etc. as per priority. He also directed to connect the district headquarters with four-lane, block headquarters with two-lane roads and give priority to the roads of the villages of the martyrs.
He informed that more than 1,000 religious places have been developed under the Chief Minister Tourism Promotion Scheme. Now at least one tourist spot in every assembly constituency will be identified and a plan will be prepared for its development.
The Urban Development Department was directed that the proposal of any project should be prepared only with the consent of the people’s representatives so that it is in accordance with the local needs. He also said that there should be transparent, time-bound and coordinated action on all suggestions.
CM Yogi Adityanat directed that the foundation stone of all the schemes should be laid by the respective public representatives after September 15 and their names must be inscribed on the foundation stone. He also made it clear that delay or negligence in development works will not be tolerated, and quality and fair monitoring of every work is the priority of the government.
