Today, on his death anniversary, we remember his contributions.
CM Yogi Adityanath said that Dr. Mookerjee made sacrifices on 23rd June 1953 to keep the concept of Akhand Bharat alive. He was the first president of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh and played a key role in formulating industrial policy and strengthening the food supply system as a cabinet minister in independent India.
CM Yogi Adityanath also pointed out that when Article 370 was added after the Constitution came into force in 1950, Dr. Mukherjee opposed it and took a pledge of ‘One Nation, One Pradhan, One Vidhan and One Nishan’. He was arrested while entering Kashmir and died in custody on June 23, 1953. He dedicated his life for the country.
“The dream of Dr. Mookerjee was’ Ek Bharat, Akhand Bharat and Surakshit Bharat ‘. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this dream was realised by removing Article 370 on August 5, 2019. This decision is a true tribute to all the bravehearts who made sacrifices for the unity and integrity of the country.
