CM Yogi Adityanath: Do not allow traffic to be disrupted on Mahakumbh Marg, use parking spaces properly.
CM Yogi Adityanath held a meeting through video conferencing with senior police officers, divisional commissioners and district administration officials of other districts including Prayagraj, Kaushambi, Kanpur, Sultanpur, Amethi, Varanasi, Ayodhya, Mirzapur, Jaunpur, Chitrakoot, Banda, Pratapgarh, Bhadohi, Rae Bareli, Gorakhpur, Mahoba and Lucknow in the presence of senior officials at his official residence. In this meeting, he reviewed the preparations for the Mahakumbh and gave necessary guidelines.
CM Yogi Adityanath said that the fifth bathing festival of Mahakumbh, ‘Magh Purnima’, will be organized on February 12, due to which the arrival of devotees in Prayagraj is increasing rapidly. In view of the increasing number of public and private vehicles, he directed to ensure better traffic and crowd management.
CM Yogi Adityanath emphasized on effectively operating the parking lots built on the border of Prayagraj, increasing the number of shuttle buses and motivating the devotees to use the parking. He also asked them to ensure that no vehicle enters the mela area in violation of rules, vehicles are not lined up on the roads and traffic is not disrupted.
CM Yogi Adityanath directed that the officers of the districts adjoining Prayagraj should maintain mutual coordination, the movement of vehicles should remain smooth and barricading should be done as per the need. He directed them to pay special attention to crowd management at railway stations, ensure regular availability of trains and run additional buses of the transport corporation.
Emphasizing on giving priority to cleanliness of Mahakumbh, he directed to ensure continuous cleaning of Sangam area, use of machines and maintain adequate availability of water in Ganga-Yamuna. Keeping in mind the safety of the devotees, the deployment of administrative and police officers was asked to be effectively implemented.
CM Yogi Adityanath also stressed on maintaining security and cordial atmosphere on the occasion of Sant Ravidas Jayanti, which will be celebrated on February 12 in the state. He said major religious places like Varanasi, Ayodhya, Chitrakoot and Mirzapur will also witness heavy rush of devotees, so traffic, parking and security arrangements should be strengthened.
Apart from this, CM Yogi Adityanath also directed to keep a close watch on the elements spreading misleading information and take strict action against them, so that the general public can get the correct information on time.
