Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the health services of the country and the state have improved significantly. The construction of a 260-bed state-of-the-art multi-super specialty hospital in Gorakhpur is a great example of this change. Facilities like cardiology, nephrology, neurology, neurosurgery, oncology, cath lab, 80-bed ICU and modern OT will be available in the same campus, in which the possibility of infection will be negligible. This hospital will prove to be a big relief for the people of eastern Uttar Pradesh, western Bihar and Nepal.
Speaking on the occasion of the inauguration of Regency Hospital in Gorakhpur, CM Yogi Adityanath said that the hospital is not only a medium of treatment, but also a center of prevention from serious problems like infection with vigilance and caution. This new super speciality hospital will provide quality health services to 5 crore people of the region.
CM Yogi Adityanath said that Regency Hospital was started from Kanpur and is considered as the backbone of health services there. It provided better services even during the Covid period. Now this chain is being extended to other districts, so that people can get facilities like big cities in their own district.
CM Yogi Adityanath said that 10 years ago the health system in eastern Uttar Pradesh was very poor, but now AIIMS, BRD Medical College and many new hospitals have been set up in Gorakhpur and Rae Bareli. Medical colleges have been set up in Basti, Siddharthnagar, Kushinagar, Deoria, Maharajganj, Ballia, Azamgarh, Ambedkar Nagar, Balrampur, Gonda, Bahraich, Ayodhya, Sultanpur, Pratapgarh, Ghazipur, Jaunpur, Chandauli, Sonbhadra and Mirzapur. Super speciality facilities for cancer treatment have also been made available at BHU, Varanasi in collaboration with Tata Cancer Hospital and Bhabha Atomic Research Centre.
CM Yogi Adityanath said that earlier it was difficult for the poor to get expensive health services, but now 5.50 crore people are being given free facilities up to Rs 5 lakh under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. The needy can also get support up to Rs 25 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Jan Arogya Yojana and MLA fund. 1100 crore has been given from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund in the last one year.
Referring to the efforts of the doctors of Gorakhpur, the Chief Minister said that the facilities like ICU, dialysis and blood separator were not there earlier, but with the efforts of the doctors, they are now available. Going forward, Gorakhpur needs to develop an advanced model with high-end medical facilities like angioplasty, bypass surgery, lung, liver and kidney transplant.
