CM Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the 'Development Workshop on Animal Breeds in India'

CM Yogi Adityanath said that India is an agricultural country and the prosperity of the country cannot be imagined without the prosperity of the farmers. In India, agriculture and animal husbandry are closely linked. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, many notable works have been done in this area in the last 11 years. Due to the efforts of the double engine government, Uttar Pradesh has reached the top position in the country in milk production. In line with the Prime Minister’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, this workshop has been organized with the objective of increasing the income of cattle rearers and farmers.

The event was themed ‘Development of Animal Breeds in India’ wherein the Chief Minister inaugurated several projects such as projects related to Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund in Amethi, Bareilly and Mathura, Artificial Insemination Training Institute Gorakhpur, and release of booklet on Breeder Associations.

The Chief Minister informed that a massive vaccination campaign is being run in the state to protect the animals from diseases like hoof and mouth, in which the central government is cooperating. Also, the state government is promoting milk producer units, among which Jhansi, Gorakhpur, Agra and Varanasi are prominent. Lakhs of women are getting livelihood from these units.

CM Yogi Adityanath also said that since 2018, special schemes are being run for destitute bovines. At present, more than 14 lakh bovines are being looked after. It includes three schemes: provision of cow shelters, handing over of bovines to cattle rearers under the Sahbhagita scheme and milch cows to malnourished families. Lakhs of people have benefitted from these schemes.

CM Yogi Adityanath said that excessive use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides is causing serious diseases and also affecting the environment. The solution is cow-based natural farming. Natural farming is being promoted in 27 districts along the Ganges and 7 districts of Bundelkhand. This will increase the income of farmers and the country will move towards self-reliance.

Uttar Pradesh has also made great achievements in fisheries, egg production and poultry. An MoU has been signed between the NDDB and the state government for dairy development in Gorakhpur, Kanpur and Kannauj. A Fodder Production Centre will be developed at Ambedkar Nagar.

CM Yogi Adityanath said that the Ganga has got a new lease of life under the Namami Gange project. In the Mahakumbh 2025, 66 crore devotees took a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam.

Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh appreciated Yogi ji’s interest in animal husbandry. State Minister Dharampal Singh said that Yogi ji has realised the spirit of ‘Gaon Rashtrasya Matra. ” A short film on animal husbandry was also screened on the occasion.

Arunachal Pradesh Minister Gabriel Denwang Wangsu, UP Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh and other senior officials were present on the occasion.
