Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath described the Chief Minister’s mass marriage scheme as highly successful. Initially, an amount of ₹35,000 was earmarked under this scheme, and in the first year itself, one lakh couples were married. So far, more than four lakh marriages have taken place through this scheme, which shows its success. He said that the government has resolved to fulfill this responsibility so that no daughter remains unmarried and the parents do not face problems in the marriage of their daughter due to lack of dowry.
CM Yogi Adityanath participated in the mass marriage programme of 1,001 couples on the occasion of Jaunpur Mahotsav, presented certificates and silver anklets to the newly married couples and showered flower petals on them. In addition, loans worth ₹3.75 crore were given to 153 beneficiaries of the district under the Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan and toolkits were distributed to beneficiaries under the ODOP Toolkit Training Scheme.
CM Yogi Adityanath said the Government is committed to economic empowerment of every family, which has resulted in lifting six crore people above the poverty line in the last eight years. Houses have been provided to 56 lakh poor people, toilets to 2.61 crore families, free electricity connection to 1.56 crore families and power supply to 1.20 lakh habitations. Free ration is also being provided to 15 crore poor people.
CM Yogi Adityanath informed that 1.86 crore beneficiaries have been given free cooking gas cylinders under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, for which ₹1,890 crore has been sanctioned. In the coming financial year, the amount given under the Chief Minister’s Mass Marriage Scheme will be increased to ₹1 lakh. Scooty will be provided to meritorious daughters, and poor families will be benefited from all the schemes of the government, such as houses, toilets, pensions, ration cards and cards of Ayushman Bharat Yojana.
CM Yogi Adityanath announced that in each district, an employment centre in the name of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel would be set up in an area of 100 acres with facilities for skill development, employment, training and career counselling. He also committed to make Jaunpur a smart city in which problems of roads, electricity and drainage will be solved.
In addition, CM Yogi Adityanath said that bypasses, flyovers and 17 new bridges have been approved in Jaunpur, which will improve the connectivity of the area. 216 crore has already been sanctioned for four laning of Jaunpur-Akbarpur road.
He informed that Umanath Singh Autonomous State Medical College has been opened in Jaunpur, and other development schemes for the area are also being accelerated. He expressed happiness over the GI tag to the famous Imarti of Jaunpur and said that it will be recognized in the international market.
CM Yogi Adityanath lauded the role of Jaunpur in organizing Prayagraj Mahakumbh-2025 and described the district as an important contributor to the development of Uttar Pradesh. He also appreciated the platform given to more than 1,000 artists at the Jaunpur Festival.
During this, he felicitated farmers who have done excellent work in the agriculture sector, distributed medicine spraying machines from drones and gave away tricycles to Divyangjan. He also discussed the possibilities of strawberry cultivation and hi-tech nursery in the district and stressed on its wide publicity.
CM Yogi Adityanath concluded that the government is committed to extend the benefits of all schemes to every section without discrimination and is moving ahead with the resolve of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.”
