CM Yogi Adityanath: The mountain society has an important contribution in the development of Uttar Pradesh and the country.

CM Yogi Adityanath attended the ‘Uttarayani Kauthig-2025’ program organized by the Hill Council here today. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that with such an event, folk culture, traditions, literature, music and stories are being passed on from generation to generation, and the idea of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ is being realized. We have to work together to strengthen the development and security of the country.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the Mahakouthig festival begins with the departure of Lord Surya in Uttarayan. The festival is being organized by the Hill Council from 14th January to 23rd January, 2025. People of the hill society associated with Uttarakhand participate in this festival with reverence. The Hill Council has been organizing this program for the last two decades. People associated with Uttarakhand living in different parts of the state keep their festivals and cultural heritage alive through such events. We can never forget our rich heritage. There are two forms of heritage – first, we carry forward the cultural heritage through our festivals and feasts, and second, we remember our immortal martyrs, through various events on birth anniversaries of great men or other special occasions.

CM Yogi Adityanath said that along with cultural programs, many competitions are also held in the Uttarayani Kauthig Parva, in which people of different classes and age groups participate. Along with this, great personalities associated with the mountain society are also honored. Shri Bhagat Singh Koshyari, who served as Governor in Maharashtra and Chief Minister in Uttarakhand, was felicitated here. He did a lot of work in Uttar Pradesh too. Shri Koshyari is famous for his simplicity and simplicity, and he dedicated his entire life in the service of the motherland. Soldiers and their families were also felicitated on the occasion.

CM Yogi Adityanath said that the hill society has an important contribution in the development of Uttar Pradesh and the country. The first Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Bharat Ratna Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant ji was born in Uttarakhand. He was a great freedom fighter and later became the Home Minister of the country. Late Shri Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna ji also had a deep connection with Uttarakhand. He was a freedom fighter and served as Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and Union Minister. Shri Narayan Dutt Tiwari ji, who was from Uttarakhand, gave a clear vision of development as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Uttarakhand has given many such great personalities to the country.

“The country’s first Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat ji was from Uttarakhand, and the country’s third Chief of Defence Staff is also an achievement of Uttarakhand. The current National Security Advisor Shri Ajit Doval ji is also from Uttarakhand. Uttarakhand has given many such great personalities to the country, and the youth there dedicate their youth to the security of the country. The Minister for Finance and Parliamentary Affairs, Shri Suresh Kumar Khanna, the Mayor of Lucknow, Smt. Sushma Kharkwal, the Advisor to the Chief Minister, Shri Awanish Kumar Awasthi, the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Home and Information, Shri Sanjay Prasad and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
