Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the Uttar Pradesh State Institute of Forensic Science is connecting the state police and the new generation with modern courses and state-of-the-art technology,Maha Kumbh.
Maha Kumbh : This is not only the need of the present but also a strong foundation for building a developed India. He informed that the institute has made remarkable progress in three years of its inception and has now entered its third session. The three-day international summit will give a new direction to the state in facing the current challenges.
The Chief Minister inaugurated the summit on the theme ‘Dimensions of Cyber Warfare, Multilateral Legal Framework, Forensic and Strategic Countermeasures. ” On the occasion, he distributed tablets to students and launched the Padma Shri Dr. Lalji Singh Advanced DNA Diagnostic Centre, AI, Drone and Robotics Lab ‘Tarkash’ and Atal Library. He also flagged off 75 mobile forensic vans for all the districts of the state.
He said that in India’s tradition, churning has always yielded nectar, and this tradition is being carried forward in this summit on topics like forensic science and cyber security. The Chief Minister said that before 2017, there were only four forensic labs in the state, due to which it was difficult to punish the criminals,Maha Kumbh. The present government has started the work of setting up ‘A’ grade labs in 18 ranges, out of which 12 are ready and 6 are under construction.
He said that under the new laws, forensic evidence has become mandatory in crimes with a punishment of more than 7 years. Keeping this in mind, mobile forensic units have been made available in every district. He said that earlier there was only a cyber police station in Gautam Budh Nagar, but now cyber police stations have been set up in all the districts and a cyber help desk has been set up in every police station.
The Chief Minister said that today cyber warfare has become the biggest challenge. Maha Kumbh ,Operation ‘Sindoor’ is an example of this. Now technology has to be developed that can counter cyber attacks. In this direction, state-of-the-art experiments like AI, drones and robotics are being done in the institute.
He said that while technology has made life easier, it has also presented new challenges. To overcome them, advanced education and training in forensics and cyber science is necessary. Uttar Pradesh State Institute of Forensic Science is playing a leading role in this direction and is rapidly moving towards its goals by getting affiliated to National Forensic Science University, Gandhinagar,Maha Kumbh.
Director General of Police Rajiv Krishna, Principal Secretary Sanjay Prasad, Principal Secretary IT and Electronics Anurag Yadav, ADG Naveen Arora, Additional Secretary to the Government of India Abhishek Singh and Director of the Institute Dr. G. K. Goswami were present on the occasion among others.
