CM Yogi Adityanath addressed the International Seminar on Ayurveda-Yoga-Nathpanth at Guru Gorakshanath Institute of Medical Sciences, Gorakhpur as the Chief Guest
Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath said, “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we are looking at a new India. In New India, work is being done to revive the stream of Indian knowledge through Ayurveda Tathayog. Centres related to traditional systems of medicine are being established in the country. All India Institute of Ayurveda is being established. “June 21 is International Day of Yoga. Many countries of the world express gratitude to the Indian knowledge tradition associated with the Yoga discipline. Everyone’s goal is to achieve health.
CM Yogi Adityanath was speaking as the Chief Guest at the three-day International Seminar on Ayurveda-Yoga-Nathpanth at Guru Gorakshanath Institute of Medical Sciences, Gorakhpur today. On the occasion, he released the International Journal of Ayurvedic Medicine-2025, Ayurveda Medicinal Experimental Science and Nath Yoga and Ayurveda Book. He said that universities or institutions can infuse the present generation with new knowledge through their creative works. The Vedic sūkta says that ‘aa no bhadra: kratavo yantu viśvatā, “that is, all doors are open for knowledge. No path to knowledge should be blocked. Such seminars are a powerful medium of imparting knowledge on various subjects. She plays a major role in preventing the inertia of knowledge and infusing it with erudition.
CM Yogi Adityanath said that India’s civilization and culture are very ancient. In different periods, sages gave a new dimension to the stream of knowledge through their experience and divine realization of consciousness. India is a land of knowledge and wisdom. The full name of Maharishi Vedavyasa was Krishna Dvaipayana Vyasa. By learning about his philosophy of life, you will feel proud of India’s tradition and system. Maharishi Vedavyasa led eight generations of the Kuru dynasty. From this point of view, their estimated life span would have been 200-250 years. Is it possible to live like this for a long time?
Maharshi Ved Vyas took the lead in writing the stream of Indian knowledge in the form of four Samhitas. He wrote the Rigveda, Yajurveda, Samaveda and Atharvaveda and dedicated them to future generations. Earlier, the stream of Indian knowledge was governed by the tradition of Shravan and Guru Shishya. He provided leadership to the team of Indian sages who carried forward the tradition of knowledge through discussions from time to time. Maharishi Valmiki did the work of connecting Vedic culture with practical knowledge. Maharshi Vedavyasa furthered this sequence. Work was also done to connect this series with the knowledge of Puranas.
CM Yogi Adityanath said that Maharishi Ved Vyas had written Mahabharat Mahakavya after the Mahabharat war. The original text of the Mahabharata has 20,000 verses. The number of shlokas has increased to more than 1 lakh in different periods. 18 What should be the style and language of the Upa Puranas of the Puranas? The credit for its determination also goes to Maharishi Vedavyas. Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran was written 5,000 years ago. This is an important story. When we talk about the book of salvation and salvation of crores of Indians, there is definitely a discussion of Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran. Moksha does not only mean liberation from the cycle of life and death, Balkimoksha means reaching the pinnacle of success. The Indian Manisha says that everyone should follow Dharma, because only Dharma can give meaning and fulfillment of desires. This will bring relief on its own.
The Indian tradition says that all means of dharma are possible only through a healthy body. No man can be recovered from a diseased body. In order to maintain a healthy body, we need to exercise regularly. You need to follow the rules carefully. Through this the purification of the inner and outer body is possible. Sleep early and wake up before sunrise. The body remains relaxed by waking up after sunrise. Disorders begin with an irregular routine. Perform puja and other rituals before sunrise. If you have time, practice morning walk and pranayama. Gradually increase the time of pranayama. Eat breakfast and dinner on time. By doing this, consciousness is awakened in the body.
CM Yogi Adityanath said that the culmination of the extensive sadhana and siddhi of Indian scholars is seen through Ayurveda and Yoga. Ayurveda says that the universe is made up of five elements. Our body is made up of these five elements. The definite coordination of vata, pitta and kapha maintains the vitality of the body. If there is a discrepancy in the ratio then the person suffers from the related disease. Ayurveda’s Panchakarma method is used for its treatment. These include nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea and abdominal pain.
CM Yogi Adityanath said that Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath ji says that ‘Pind Mahi Universe Samaya, Yat Pinde Tat Universe’ i. e. what is in this universe is also in our body. Gorakhnath ji’s dynamic yoga associated with Nathpanth also serves to see the secrets of the universe in the body itself. The yogi who has reached the pinnacle of siddhi does not wander outside in search of knowledge. He’s working on his mind. Hatha Yoga, Jnana Yoga, Karma Yoga, etc. have the same initial background. This background begins with rules and moderation. Rajyoga combines it with Yama and Niyama. Hatha Yoga combines it with Hatha Karma. While Panchakarmas are important in Ayurveda, Shatkarma is preferred in Hatha Yoga. These include Dhauti, Basti, Neti, Nauli, Tratak, Kapalbhati. If a person follows these rules, he will be free from the disorders caused by the country, time and circumstances. The highest attainment of health can be achieved by special divine and Guru Kripa or self-sadhana. Medicines also help in this regard. The aspect of kriya yoga was provided by the Nath yogis. This is the essence of yoga. There are many asanas named after Nath yogis which include Gorakshasana, Matsyendrasana, Gomukhasana etc. When the benefit of which action can be obtained. This has been discussed. He has also shed light on physiology through yogic activities.
CM Yogi Adityanath said that Nath Yogi wears the Nath janeu. At the time of training, they are given information about it. This janeu informs about the nerves of the body. There are 6 major nerves in the body. Normally we experience Ida, Pingala and Sushumna nadis. Being a yoga master, Nath Yoga has made it a part of his life. This tradition continues. Nath yogis have worked to reach the higher dimension of consciousness. There are three dimensions to consciousness. We think with our conscious mind. The conscious mind is a very small part of the human mind. The things seen, heard or read and the rites of birth and death accumulate in the conscious mind. Because of the subconscious mind, many things come to our memory suddenly.
CM Yogi Adityanath said that at the peak of sadhana, the secrets of the subconscious mind are revealed. To learn about the accumulated memories of the subconscious mind, we have to get into reverse gear. That is, if a total of 100 days are considered, then first you reach the 99th day, then the 98th day, then try to reach the first day in order. You have to make each hour the basis for going back each day. If you do this, you will succeed in awakening your subconscious mind. The unconscious mind can also be awakened through specific sadhana. You have a better computer than a supercomputer. It’s never been used. Only the sages of India have been able to use it. These sages include Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath ji, who went beyond the consciousness of the subconscious mind and revealed the secrets of life through his texts.
CM Yogi Adityanath said that sitting in meditation is a very difficult task for a normal person, because your mind is very fickle. Ordinary persons should establish the equilibrium of the souls with the dispositions of the mind through the practice of Pranayama. If you do this, you will be able to focus your attention in one place. There will be a connection with the breath. It is known by different names in different religions. Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath called it Japajapa. Mahatma Buddha took it forward through another practice. Various sages worked to bring life to its peak through it. Japajapa and Vipassana are important means of awakening the subconscious or unconscious mind. It can be obtained by a seeker reaching a higher dimension. Ashta Siddhi Nav Nidhi has been enshrined in the Indian tradition. This can be achieved through hard work and dedication.
CM Yogi Adityanath said that Ayurveda, Yoga and Nathpanth are complementary to each other. All these three methods rely on practical aspects. All three have recognized that the five physical bodies are not separate from the universe. What we are looking for in the universe, if we look for it in this body, we will find it easily. Over time, we have become accustomed to these methods. We looked at it from the point of view of the system which was our heritage. External knowledge was given importance. The results are before all of us. We were deprived of our achievements. There came a time when others started patenting yoga and ayurvedic medicines in their name.
The Indian Manisha did not confine the meaning of religion to the mode of worship but gave it a wider form. He took religion in a broader perspective. The flow of duty, virtue and moral values on which the life of the individual and the society is based, the Indian man has accepted that particular way of life as religion. It is not necessary to go to a temple or pay obeisance to any scripture to prove oneself a Hindu. We don’t believe in religion. A dead person is not considered religious. They are considered a threat to social values. Social values are indispensable for a person’s religion.
On this occasion, Vice Chancellor of Mahayogi Gorakhnath University Prof. Surinder Singh, Principal Guru Gorakhnath Institute of Medical Sciences Dr. Girdhar Vedantam, Advisor to Chief Minister Shri Awanish Kumar Awasthi, experts of Ayurveda and Yoga along with other dignitaries were present.
