CM Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the UP Textile Conclave and highlighted ₹5,196 crore investment proposals, new schemes and textile sector growth.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister CM Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday inaugurated the two-day UP Textile Conclave at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow. During the event, the Chief Minister highlighted the state’s investment-friendly environment and called upon investors and industrialists to explore opportunities in Uttar Pradesh.
The conclave also witnessed the signing of agreements linked to new investment proposals worth around ₹5,196 crore in the textile sector. The Chief Minister said the state is prepared to support investors through favourable policies, infrastructure, skilled talent and a large market.
Yogi Highlights Changes in Uttar Pradesh
Addressing the gathering, CM Yogi Adityanath compared the current environment in Uttar Pradesh with previous governments. He said that the state has undergone significant changes in terms of law and order, industrial development and investment opportunities.
The Chief Minister claimed that the previous Samajwadi Party government lacked industry-friendly policies and that setting up factories in the state was difficult at that time. He also said that businesses could not grow properly when traders themselves did not feel secure.
‘UP Is Riot-Free, Mafia-Free and Curfew-Free’
CM Yogi Adityanath said Uttar Pradesh has now moved towards a more secure environment for citizens, traders and investors. He claimed that the state is currently “riot-free, mafia-free and curfew-free.”
He also targeted the previous government over the issue of organised crime, saying that the earlier period was associated with the influence of professional criminals. In contrast, he highlighted the state government’s focus on the ‘One District, One Product’ initiative.
The remarks were part of the Chief Minister’s broader pitch to investors, with law and order presented as an important factor in creating a favourable business environment.

New Textile Initiatives Launched
During the conclave, CM Yogi Adityanath launched several initiatives aimed at supporting the textile and handloom sectors.
These included the ‘UP Tex Mitra’ portal, the ‘Handloom Weaver Samriddhi Yojana’ and the ‘Uttar Pradesh Textile Sector Training and Skill Development Scheme’.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated an exhibition showcasing products and developments from the textile and apparel industry. The initiatives are aimed at providing greater support to weavers, textile businesses and workers associated with the sector.
Focus on Textile Parks and New Units
The first day of the conclave included a roundtable discussion between the Chief Minister and textile industry experts. Discussions focused on ways to expand the sector and attract additional investment to Uttar Pradesh.
Memorandums of understanding were also exchanged with companies for setting up units at the PM MITRA Textile Park and Sant Kabir Textile and Apparel Park.
AI, Modern Machinery and Exports Discussed
The conclave also focused on the growing role of technology in the textile sector. Four special sessions were organised on the first day, covering topics such as the use of artificial intelligence, modern machinery and opportunities to increase textile exports.
CM Yogi Adityanath said Uttar Pradesh has the necessary policy framework, infrastructure, talent and market potential to attract investment across sectors.
Investment and Employment Remain Key Focus
The UP Textile Conclave is aimed at strengthening Uttar Pradesh’s textile and apparel ecosystem while encouraging fresh investments in the state. The government expects greater industrial activity to create new employment opportunities and strengthen businesses associated with textiles and handloom products.
CM Yogi Adityanath urged industrialists and investors to invest in Uttar Pradesh, assuring them of policy support and infrastructure facilities. The ₹5,196 crore investment proposals announced at the conclave are being positioned as another step towards expanding the state’s textile industry.
