CM Yogi Adityanath said that during the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had unveiled the vision of a Developed India.
CM Yogi Adityanath ,By 2047, when the nation marks 100 years of independence, it must be clear what kind of India we want to build. This vision is not only the responsibility of the government but a collective pledge of 140 crore citizens. With this spirit, everyone must join the Developed Uttar Pradesh/2047 Campaign.
Speaking at the orientation workshop for intellectuals under this campaign at Lok Bhavan, the Chief Minister launched the Samarth Uttar Pradesh Portal. He said that the aim is to make all 25 crore citizens of the state active participants in this journey, with the support of intellectuals and retired professionals who can guide and inspire the youth.
The CM recalled that India was once the world’s largest economy, contributing 25% to global GDP until the 17th century, but its share fell to just 2% by 1947. However, under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi since 2014, India has become the world’s fourth-largest economy and is set to rise to third place by 2027. If the current pace continues, the vision of a Developed India by 2047 will certainly be realized.
Highlighting Uttar Pradesh’s role, he said the state contributed 14% to national GDP until 1960 but declined to the 8th position by 2017, earning the label of a BIMARU state. Weak industries, farmer distress, migration of artisans, and poor education dragged the state backward. But in the past eight years, UP has transformed—its SGDP has risen from ₹13 lakh crore to ₹35 lakh crore, exports have touched ₹2 lakh crore, and schemes like One District One Product have revived MSMEs and handicrafts.
The CM stressed that UP is now the country’s second-largest economy and the fastest-growing state. He urged intellectuals, academics, and institutions to spread awareness, collect public suggestions, and connect every village, municipality, and ward with the campaign. Sustainable growth, self-reliant villages, and people’s participation, he said, will be key to achieving the 2047 goals.
Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak also highlighted the progress under CM Yogi’s leadership, noting that UP today has strong law and order, improved per capita income, and a solid foundation to contribute to Prime Minister Modi’s goal of making India a $30 trillion economy by 2047.
Ministers Surya Pratap Shahi, Swatantra Dev Singh, and senior officials were also present on the occasion.
