Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has approved a massive irrigation development plan worth Rs. 394.53 crore in Uttar Pradesh. During a review meeting of the Irrigation and Water Resources Department, CM Yogi announced the launch of 95 new projects aimed at strengthening the state’s canal network and improving irrigation facilities.
The newly approved projects are designed to cover approximately 36,000 hectares of farmland, directly benefiting nearly nine lakh farmers and rural communities across the state. The initiatives also include the conservation of over 270 hectares of land under the jurisdiction of the irrigation department.

CM Yogi’s Focus on Quality and Flood Management
Addressing government officials, CM Yogi emphasized that the quality of construction work must remain uncompromised. He instructed the officials to prioritize flood management and to begin flood control operations starting January 2026. Officials were also advised to collaborate closely with local public representatives to develop a detailed and actionable plan for effective implementation.

The irrigation projects are expected to improve water availability for agriculture, enhance crop yield, and strengthen rural livelihoods.
