Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath chaired a high-level meeting through video conferencing from his official residence to review the flood situation, upcoming festivals, law and order, drone operations, ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign and activities of the Basic Education Department. The meeting was attended by senior officials and ministers of the state government.
Instructions to expedite flood relief works
CM Yogi directed the officials of the flood-affected districts to speed up the relief work. He interacted with the officials and took stock of the situation. The Chief Minister said that relief materials should be distributed in time, their quality should be checked and people living in flood shelters should get hot and nutritious food. Special arrangements should be made for women and children and the safety of refugees should be ensured.
He ordered that the control rooms should be active 24×7 and regular reports should be sent to the Relief Commissioner. Health camps should be set up in the affected areas and treatment facilities should be provided and rescue work should be done by big boats. No one should stay in dilapidated buildings, they should be immediately shifted to safer places. He directed to keep a special eye on the eroded areas and survey the damaged houses and give the benefit of land and housing scheme to the needy.
Special arrangements on festivals On the last Monday of Shravan, strong arrangements for security, cleanliness and electrical safety were asked to be made in Shivalayas. On Raksha Bandhan (August 8, 6 am to August 10, 12 pm), free travel facility has been announced for women in UP roadways and city buses. Adequate buses will be run and special arrangements will be made for traffic management.
Independence Day and Tricolour Campaign Terming the ‘Har Ghar Tricolour’ campaign as a symbol of patriotism, the Chief Minister said that 4.60 crore Tricolours would be unfurled in the state this year. The tricolor should be prepared from August 2 to 8, tiranga yatras and fairs should be organized from August 9 to 12, and the tricolor should be hoisted on all offices, institutions and houses from August 13 to 15.
On ‘Partition Horrors Remembrance Day’ on August 14, a Tiranga Yatra will be taken out and on August 15, the flag will be hoisted along with the national anthem in all government and private institutions. On the occasion of Janmashtami on August 16, arrangements for cleanliness and security in temples should be ensured. Janmashtami will also be celebrated in Police Lines with pomp and permission for the procession will be mandatory from the administration. The use of audio devices is limited.
CM Yogi directed to take strict action against those spreading fear about drones. He asked the police officials to increase public awareness and maintain communication with the Village Security Committees to prevent rumours. Strict action should be taken against those who fly drones without permission. If any untoward incident takes place due to rumours, the concerned police station in-charge and district magistrate will be held responsible.
Emphasizing on basic education and the interests of farmers, the Chief Minister directed to ensure compliance of standards in pairing of schools and take action against erring officials. He also asked them to provide fertilizers to farmers at a fixed rate as per their requirement.
Drone Policy and Administrative Instructions DGP Shri Rajiv Krishna informed that under the Drone Policy 2023, the Superintendent of Police and the Commissioner have been empowered to declare an area as Red Zone for 96 hours.
Urban Development Minister Arvind Sharma, Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh, Minister of State for Basic Education Sandeep Singh, Minister of State for Secondary Education Gulab Devi, Chief Secretary S. P. Goyal and other senior officials were present in the meeting.
