CM Yogi Adityanath held a special interactive meeting with the public representatives of Kanpur Mandal at his official residence here today. On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that the Public Works Department should decide the priority of the proposed works in consultation with the concerned public representatives and start the works. All work is carried out in a timely and transparent manner. He described these works as “capital of public trust” and not merely a statement of government expenditure.
At the outset of the interaction, the Chief Minister took detailed feedback from the MLAs / public representatives of Kanpur Nagar, Kanpur Dehat, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Etawah and Auraiya on the ground situation, public expectations, progress of development works and administrative coordination in their constituencies.
CM Yogi said that the role of Kanpur division is very important in the sustainable and balanced development of Uttar Pradesh. The Mandal is the industrial and educational backbone of the state as well as a centre of cultural diversity, historical consciousness and commitment of the people’s representatives. The State Government is working with full commitment and dedication to take the industrial heritage, educational richness and cultural consciousness of Kanpur division in the direction of modern development.
In the meeting, the action plan of a total of 1,362 construction works proposed by the public representatives of all the 6 districts of Kanpur division by the Public Works Department was presented at an estimated cost of Rs 10,914 crore. These works include important proposals related to roads, bridges, flyovers, bypasses, inter-connectivity, missing link roads, single connectivity, development of religious places, security and logistics. Of these, the maximum number of works were proposed for Kanpur Nagar district, in which 426 schemes were presented at a cost of Rs 5,006 crore. These include 308 works at a cost of Rs 2,476 crore for Farrukhabad district, 336 works at a cost of Rs 1,214 crore for Kanpur Dehat district, 98 works at a cost of Rs 1,076 crore for Kannauj district, 128 works at a cost of Rs 620 crore for Etawah district and 66 development works at a cost of Rs 524 crore for Auraiya district.CM Yogi directed the Urban Development Department to inscribe the names of local public representatives on the plaque related to the development works being carried out by the Urban Development Department.
CM Yogi said that the people’s representatives are the most trusted link between the people and the government. Their ideas and suggestions are not merely a medium of communication, but are a manifestation of the aspirations of the people, which should be actively incorporated in the formulation and implementation of schemes. He expected the officials to not take the experiences and field inputs of the public representatives only at the document level, but make them the living basis of policy making.
Terming Kanpur Mandal as the harbinger of development, the Chief Minister expressed confidence that in the years to come, this Mandal would emerge as an inspiring model not only for Uttar Pradesh but for the entire country
