CM YOGI reviewed preparations for Makar Sankranti Fair in Gorakhpur

CM YOGI: All preparations for Makar Sankranti fair should be completed by December 15, 2024

CM YOGI Adityanath ji today reviewed the preparations for Makar Sankranti Fair at Shri Gorakhnath Temple in Gorakhpur. He gave instructions to the officials in the meeting That all the preparations for the Makar Sankranti fair should be completed by December 15, 2024, so that better facilities and arrangements are available to the devotees coming to the fair.

The Chief Minister said that a large number of people start coming to Shri Gorakhnath Temple from the first day of the New Year. A large number of people from Nepal and Bihar also come to offer Khichdi in the Makar Sankranti fair. Therefore, there should be comprehensive security arrangements. The police administration should make complete arrangements to control the crowd and avoid traffic jams etc. and also ensure that vehicles are parked in the parking lots.There should be arrangements for lighting, security, bonfire, CCTV and cleanliness at the vehicle stand.

CM YOGI directed the Municipal Corporation officials that arrangements should be made in view of the fact that a large number of devotees can come to the Mankar Sankranti Fair while going to the Prayagraj Mahakumbh Mela and also on the way backAdequate number of women police personnel should be deployed in the fair and adequate arrangements for CCTV cameras should be made. Along with better arrangements for cleanliness and street lighting, the Municipal Corporation should also light bonfires in the fair.

The Chief Minister said that Gorakhpur Development Authority, Public Works Department and Municipal Corporation should keep the roads in good condition. The Department of Telecommunications should provide temporary telephone connections during the fair.The electricity department should ensure that there are no open, dilapidated or loose wires anywhere in the locality. Along with giving wide publicity to the fair, exhibitions should be organized to give information about the development of Gorakhpur to the people coming to the fair.

The Chief Minister directed that the Health Department organize camps during the fair. The Railway Department should run special trains like before. The transport department should arrange for adequate number of buses. All India Radio and Doordarshan should broadcast the fair live. Public representatives and senior officials of the government and administration were present in the meeting.
