CM Yogi Adityanath reviewed the progress of development works with the people’s representatives of Jhansi and Chitrakoot Dham mandals at a high-level meeting convened at his official residence here today as part of the district-wise peoples’ representatives dialogue series launched for the all-round development of the state. On this occasion, he personally interacted with all the public representatives about the circumstances, public needs and developmental priorities of their constituencies. The objective of the meeting was not just to review the schemes but to understand and ensure solutions to the problems of the far-flung areas of the state on priority through the on-ground understanding and experience of the people’s representatives.
CM Yogi said that the government is giving top priority to the development of Bundelkhand region. Chitrakoot Dham Mandal is famous as the Taposthali of Lord Shri Ram. Jhansi Mandal is associated with the heroic story of Rani Lakshmibai. These two mandals are the centres of historical, cultural and spiritual identity of Uttar Pradesh. The revival and integrated development of these areas is the cornerstone of the creation of ‘New Uttar Pradesh’.
The meeting discussed in detail all the development proposals submitted by the people’s representatives. CM Yogi directed the Public Works Department and the Charitable Works Department to decide the priority of the proposed works in coordination with the public representatives and ensure their implementation in a time-bound, transparent and quality manner.
A total of 691 works have been proposed from three districts of Jhansi division (Jhansi, Jalaun and Lalitpur) out of the total proposals given by the public representatives. The estimated cost is Rs 4,901 crore. Similarly, a total of 397 works are proposed from four districts (Banda, Hamirpur, Chitrakoot and Mahoba) of Chitrakoot Dham Mandal at a cost of Rs. Thus, a total of 1,088 works have been proposed from both the mandals at a total cost of Rs. Out of these, Jhansi and Banda districts topped in their respective mandals with an expenditure of Rs 1,916 crore and Rs 1,825 crore respectively.
The proposed works include connectivity to block headquarters, inter-connectivity roads, approach roads to religious places, logistics hubs, bypasses, ROBs / underpasses, flyovers, major and minor bridges, road safety measures, irrigation infrastructure and pontoon bridges. All these works will work to connect the geographically challenging areas and will also help in giving impetus to the local economy.
CM Yogi directed that wherever there is a need to improve interstate connectivity in Bundelkhand, it should be included in the first phase action plan based on the recommendation of the MLAs. The Chief Minister directed the Urban Development Department to seek the guidance of local public representatives before preparing any project proposal by the department.
The Chief Minister said that the experience of the people’s representatives and understanding of local needs is a guide for governance. We are not limited to making plans, but their timely and on-ground implementation is our identity. By taking the Bundelkhand region out of the darkness of neglect, we are bringing it on the line of bright future of Uttar Pradesh. He said that the intention of the government is to bring every scheme to fruition.
Accountability will be fixed for this, technology will be used properly and there will be no compromise on the quality of works.
The Chief Minister said that all the public representatives should constantly monitor the proposed works in their respective areas and play an active role in shaping the plans in accordance with the local public sentiments.
